Minutes of previous meeting r�ad and approved as corrected, changing " block 3 to block 2 in the Irene Waldo description. Old Business Application of Irene Waldo to rezone from R-2 to R-3 lots 16, 179 189 19, block 2 Central Park addition. Mrs. Waldo was unabhle to be present but left a letter stating she wished to use this property for a small trailer park. Mr. and Mrs. Arrie Godwin, Mrs. Don Van Esenberger, Mr. Ellis Burian, Jeff Cain, Tommy Cotten, Kenneth Leckner , area property owners, appeared in opposition. New Business Application of South Central Bell Telephone Co. as agent for Atlantic- Richfield Oil Co. and for Mrs. Myrtis Thomas to rezone from R-2 to B-2 lots 13, 149 159 16 of the Oswalt Addition . Mr. Johnston, attorney, Mr. Gandler, architect, Mr. Davis, engineer, appeared for the telephone company, explaining that this building would be used for equipment and not customer service, that the site was selected close to present central office to facilitate transfer of equipment and that ample parking space had been planned.onthe east side of property. Motion by Mr. Gates, seconded by Mr. Pitman, that the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission strongly recommend to the City Council the rezoning of lots 13,14,15, 16, Oswalt Addition and request that City Council hold public hearing on same at the earliest possible time. Motion carried. Application of Mildred Patton to rezone from R-2 to B-1 lot 17, block 16 Volanta Subdivision, Mrs. Patton was not present but application stated that no construction was contemplated, that owner wished to erect sign on this lot directing clients to her place of business. Following discussion, motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Bung, that the rezoning application of Mrs. Mildred Patton be accepted for advertising for public hearing at the next regular meeting. Motion carried. Mr. Allen Troup appeared relative to buffer planting on Thomas - Corte used car lot on South BayView Avenue. JOhn Parker reported on Auburn Workshop meeting of MArch 11; 82 attended afternoon meeting; 14 present at evening meeting. The Art Association voted no charge for the use of their build- ing, a consideration for which Mr. Parker wrote letter of appreciation. 0 Decision onWaldo application Motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Gates, that the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council that the application of Mrs. Irene Waldo to rezone from R-2 to R-3, lots 16, 17, 189 19, block 2, Central Park Addition be rejected as the Commission does not feel this property lends itself to proposed trailer park usage.
