Reading of minutes of previous meeting omitted. Old business: Mrs. W. F. Laraway having placed on file the dimensioned plat and vicinity map requested, the public hearing was conducted on her request to rezone fro*.^. R-2 to B-1 the following described property; No opposition was present. New business: Application of Alabama Power Co. to rezone from R-1 to M-1 the following described property in the police jurisdiction to be accepted for kmat public hearing. H. M. Stein, division superintendent, explained projected use, asked for set back requirements, and on recommedation of Mr. Bateman, agreed to ornamental planting and red wood slats in the cyclone fence to be erected. Motion by Mr. Arnold,secondedby Mr. Bung, that the Fairhope Plan- ning Commission recommend to the City Council the approval of the Alabama Power Company's rezoning request, provig ng ornamental planting and redwood slats in the cyclone fence �e erected as agreed; and that the City advertise the application for public hearing at the earliest possible date. Motion carried. d1iApplication of Mrs. Irene Waldo to rezones from R-2 to R-3 lots 16,17 189 19 , block 0 Central Park addition. Motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. PArker, that the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission accept for advertising for public hearing the appli- cation of Mrs. irene Waldo. Motion carried. Mrs. Waldo stated that she could not be present at the public hearing and was advised that a letter stating the particulars of her case would suffice. Decision Motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Parker, that the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council the approval of the rezoning application of Mrs.W. F. Laraway as hereto fore described and alsolots 7 and 8, block 1. Hoyle- 9 A as heretofore described and also lots 7 and 8; block 1, Hoyle - ,Worcester Addition, owned by Walter Wilson, and adjoining the iarawy property on the South. Motion carried. It is the wish of the Planning Commission that the -natural growth on the west and north lines be left for � buffer zones between residential and business property. Mr. Ed Warley requested and obtained advice of rezoning certain property on Greeno Blvd . and Volanta Avenue. Mr. Dyson reported that paving was completed in Bonnell'.s High Ridge Estates and lots were being sold. Mr. Box displayed rendering of new building to be erected by Dew Drop Inn on their beach property. Mr. Parker gave progress report from the committee on the Auburn Workshop; the meetings are to be held Wednesday, March 11, at the Art Center, with the 1P.M• progrm slanted toward the downtown merchants and the 7:30 program of a more technical nature for city officials and planning board members of this and neighboring communities.
