Absent: Members Pitman, Macon. Visitors: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Mrs. Cain, Mr. Damson, Mr. Gandler, Mr. Warley, Mr. Bonder, Mrs. Laraway and Mr. Frank Laraway. Minutes of previous meeting approved as read. Old Business: Request of Kenneth Cain to rezone from R-2 to B-2, lot 6. Block 1, Central Park Addition. Mr. Smith adjacent pro- perty owner stated he is not protesting rezoning but would �(A oppose any assessment for paving if street be opened is paved. Request of Frank Laraway to rezone from R-2 to B-1 tract of land on Gresno d6scribed below: Situated in Baldwin CountAlabama, to0wit: Begin at stake Three Hundred and Thirty-%o feet North of the Southeast ear- ner of Fractional Section Seventeen, Township Six South;Range Two East, thence North Three Hundred and Twomty Three feet to a stake, thence West Four Hundred and Forty feet to a stake; thence South Three Hundred and Twenty Six feet to a stake; thence East Four Hundred and Forty feet to the place of begin- ning. Contains 3 and 31r100th Acres, located on Greeno Blvd., North of Nichols Avenue. Mr. Arnold seconded by Mr. Bung that the rezoning applica- tion of Frank Laraway be accepted for public hearing on March 2, 1970 on condition that accurate plahas been sub - land vicinity map mitted before that date. Motion carried. Application for Damson and Co., Realtors to rezone from R-2 to B-2 that part of the Renzie Bell property on North Church Street not already zoned B-2. Mr. Damson explained that his option on property expire 6 march llth so zoning requirements must be met before that date. It was agreed that since City Council must hold public hearing on rezoning application; the Planning Commission would omit their public hearing in this case. Motion by Mr. Bung, seconded by Mr. Gates that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council the approval of the Damson rezoning application and due to time element involved they request that the City Cpuncil hold public hearing on this application at the meeting of February 24, 1970. motion carried. New Business: Mr. Arnold presented plat of Saggin Oaks Subdivision located on Hwy.98 in police jurisdiction for preliminary approval. Two of the owners, Lawrence Thomas and Bob Bendik were present to outline their needs. motion by Mr. Gates, seconded by Mr. Kirk that preliminary approval be given Saggin Oaks Subdivision, subject to revision of plat to include vicinity map, street 140 feet set back line; also the street Saggin Oak Court must be black topped before final approval can be given. motion carried with Mr. Arnold abstaining. Mike Ponder brought in plat of units 3 and 4 of Park Terrace for approval of proposed streets shown. motion by Mr. Bung that the proposed streets in unit 3 and 4 of Park Terrace be approved with the exception of myrtle Street which should be extended Northward. motion carried unanimously. Following discussion, motion by Mr. Parker, seconded by Mr. Bung, that the Commission recommend to the City Council an increase to $25.00 in the remuneration of the secretary. Motion carried unanimously. ` motion by Mr. Gates, seconded by Mr. Bung, that the Com- mission recommend to the City Council the rezoning to B-2 of lot 6, block 1, Central Park, as requested by Mr. Cain. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Parker reported that the Auburn Workshop program would be on march llth, from 1 to 3 at the main gallery of the Art Association building.
