FAIRHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Regular and Public Meeting, Monday, February 3; 1969 ►� 5:00 P.M., City Hall, Fairhope; Alabama - - Present: Chairman Frederick, members Pitman, Bishop, Arnold, Gates. Absent: Members Macon, Kirk, Bagnell and Bung. Visitors: Cora and Clint Cotton, John Robinson, Allen Finch, Flora Bell, Inez Kendall, Rutelia Johnson, Dora Lee Coleman, Estelle Bradford, Earl Forsman for B.A. Forsman Case; 0.0. Stewart, Mike Ford and E. G. Rickarby for Bishop's Subdivision; Neil McNichols, Phyllis Nesbitt and Mike Blake for Eastern Shore Southern Methodist Church. Mr. Bateman and Mr. Dyson were also in attendance. Reading of minutes of previous meeting omitted. Old Business: Request of B. A. Forsman to rezone from R-2 to R-3 lots 15 & 16 of Fairhope Colored Subdivision and Lot 4 in Block 2 of Coleman Suburban Homes. Spectators requested explanation of proposed zoning but voiced no opposition thereto. Charles Bishop, Rainbow Acres Subdivision, following examina- tion and discussion of corrected plat submitted, motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Gates that preliminary approval be given Rainbow Acres subject to: 1. Approval of County Board of Health. 2. Utility easement of 15 feet along center line of B1 A. 3. Recording date of dedication of Lake Shore Drive. 4. This approval not to cover lots 4, 5 and 6 until satis- factory settlement Prohism of water problem and percola- tion test has been reached. 5. The paving of Prairie Street before final approval is re- quested must be equal to or better than county standards. Motion carried. Eastern Shore Southern Methodist Church were advised to meet with the Board of Zoning Adjustments and Appeals. Suggestion that property owners adjoining proposed subdivision be notified was discussed. Motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Gates that letters be sent to adjoining prope ty owners prior to consideration of new subdivision. Motion carried. Mr. Bateman explained items on his workable program program. The secretary was instructed to send copies of the proposal to members of the Commissione City Council. Motion by Mr. Arnold seconded by Mr. Pitman that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council the rezoning Brom R-2 to R-3 described in B.A. Forsman request. Motion carried. Census 1960 and Alabama Code Title 37-9) This does not include land subdivided by metes and bounds - only plats of record and obvious fence lines reflected by the latest U. S.
