FAIRHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
Regular Meeting, Monday, September 7, 1968 It
City Hall, 5400 p.m.
Present: Members Bung, Spader, Niemeyer, Gates, Macon.
Absent: Chairman Frederick, members Arnold, G , Pitman.
Visitors: Mrd Bateman, Dyson, Stine.
Mr. Macon served as chairman pro tem.
No old business.
NEW BUSINESS:i
101. Dr. Robert Stine, application to rezone from R-1 to B-2 the fol-
lowing described property&
Start at N.E. Corner of Section 39 (Baron de Ferrfet''t -Gftnt) Township
6 Bouth, Rangy 2 &oat -end Pun South along the eestem Doumbry 1030.5 Ft.,
for POW -W -BEGINNING; South 300 Feet, South 870 to
East Margin of Greeno Road, N.W. N 210 51' Test 325.5 Feet, East 169.5 Ft.
to POINT OF 'BEGINNING.
Motion carried unanimously.
Application of Donald Olds to rezone from R-2 to R-3 lot 39 Block 7,
Section 37, TS 6 S; Range 2E, Volanta Subdivision. Letter from
Baldwin County Health Department concerning.sanitary facilities
on this lot was attached to application. Neither Mr. Olds nor his
agent being present,
Motion by Mr. Gates, seconded by Mr. Bung that the Planning Com-
mission refuse to accept the Olds Application for advertising pending
clarification of the Health Department; further that Mr. Olds be
requested to bring detailed information to Planning Commission con-
cerning the type of lift station being considered and maintenance
of same. Motion carried.
Letter from George McKean concerning previous use of rear of lot at
72 Fairhope Avenue was read and placed on file.
Mimeographed suggestion sheets on planning programs from Mr. Bateman
were discussed.
Mr. Earl, Agent from Donald Olds, arriving late said he would bring
to the next meeting a letter from Mr. Olds stating that he would
install and maintain a lift pump and would supply specifications.
Motion by Mr. Niemeyer, seconded by Mr. Bung that the Planning Com-
mission accept for advertising for public hearing on October 79 the
rezoning application of Donald Olds. Motion carried.
Upon motion, meeting adjourned.

Gentlemen:
In answer to a question concerning the recent
use of the area immediately behind the building
located at 72 %. Fairhope Ave. now occupied by
Thomas -Corte Pontiac I would like to submit the
followin7 information for the record.
From about 1929 thru 1964 Klumpp Idotor Co.
used the area for parkins used, repaired, serviced,
new, and even junked automob-les and trucks.
During 1965 MIcKean, Inc. parkced its service and delivery
vehicles on the property as weTl as kept two repaired
vehicles on the property tllat were avail:-ole for sale.
They were, later sold. In 1965 Beasley Radiator Shop
operated in the building; at 72 N. Fairhope Ave. avid
also used the property for parkin6 repaired and service
vehicles. In 1966 Fairhope Auto Repair moved into the
bui ldinr at 72 N. Fairhope Ave. and has had the
property in continuous use over the past two years
to park repaired and service vehicles5 as well as an
occasional used car for sale. If' any aaditional
