page 236 of the Probate Records of B*T*0101
County, Ala.
Property located at 103 Pier Avenue Pecan Street
and Dr. and Mrs. Abrahammer 100 Pecan Street spoke in apposition
objecting to duplexes with problems of overcrowding lot, parking,
and transient tenents; any zoning down depreciates neighborhood.
Mrs. Jackson, 108 Pier, thought that a well kept duplex could be
more desireable`t""han some single familyk dwellings. Mr. Yokel
stated that whi& he did not plan to occupy it himself he lived
near enough to maintain it in good order.
Mr. Bateman mentioned spot zoning.
Application of Cummings, Wilson and Thomas as agents for W. R.
Todd to rezone from B-1 to B-2 property as described:
Mr. Wilson explained that the buyer wished to establish Pontiac,
Agency which would include repair shop but no filling station.
The shop would be located on the east side of building. Mr.
Stroop spokesman for the opposition stated that Ingleside re-
sidents have opposed rezoning on Greeno in the past and will con-
tinue to oppose same; foolish to move a mile from the central business
district to start a new general business area; this is spot zoning
without comprehensive planning. Mr. Hysslop, Malone, Pearson and
Mrs. Schneider commented along similar lines.
'. ally e Mr. 94zerorer had no objections; in his opinion business zoning for
area is logical and inevitable.
