Regular Meeting, Monday, April 3, 1967 f
5 p.m., City Hall
Present: Members Bagnell, Niemeyer, Bung Arnold, Macon, Pitman,
Spader and Chairman Frederick.
Absent: Mr. Gates.
Visitors: Mr. Dyson and Mr. Bateman.
Mr. Macon served as vice chairman until arrival of chairman.
Minutes of previous meeting approved as read.
Old business: Sub -division of 14 lots in Deep Tree Forest, owner,
Robert M. Green, C. F. Arnold, Engineer"suggested that the name
of"Green Street" be changed because of similarity to "Greeno
Blvd."
Motion by Mr. Pitman, seconded by Mr. Bung, that preliminary ap-
proval be giv en to the Deep Tree Forest Subdivision subject to
change in name of Green Street and location of cul de sac at end
of proposed Green Street. Motion carried.
Mr. Bateman mentioned that he was planning a trip to Washington,
D. C., for the Mayor of Long Beach, Miss., and inquired as to
interest of any Fairhope Authority in joining him.
Housing standards were discussed; a committee upgrade neighbor-
hoods was suggested. The Chairman appointed Mr. Macon, Bagnell,
Pitman and Niemeyer as a sub -committee to outline purpose, duties,
etc., of such neighborhood committees.
Motion by Mr. Pitman, seconded by Mr. Arnold, that the Fairhope
Planning Commission recommended to the City Council that using
available city personnel, a comprehensive surgey of present street
patterns be conducted to locate areas of traffic hazards and to
take remedial actions where indicated; specifically, attention
is called to South Section Street, and to the intersections of
Gay er Avenue and of Morphy Avenue at Section Street. Motion
ca ried unanimously.
There being no further business, meeting adjourned.
