FAIRHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
Regular Meeting, Monday, November 7, 1966
7:30 p.m., City Hall
Present: Chairman Frederick, Members Gates, Bagnell, Bung,
Arnold, Niemeyer, Pitman, Macon, Spader.
Absent, None
Visitorss Mr. Dyson, Poser, Bateman, Strickland and Ford.
Minutes of previous meeting approved as read.
Old Business:
Chairman requested Mr. Poser to outline the status of his
application; Mr. Poser reported no change but asked the commission
to delay action for another thirty days to give time for a tharough
search for location ar-reeable to all. He will return to next
meeting with a solution or a request for immediate decision on
his application.
Following discussion on need for an Industrial Sark, Mr. Bung

Mr. Strickland, President of Chamber of Commerce promised full
cooperation of Chamber in implementing this project.
Mr. Gates recommended that letters of commendati5o b s
business concerns which have recently Erected news modeled
existing bldgs.; Mr. Strickland volunteered to do this.

Mr. Bateman and Mr. Dyson reported on progress and difficul-
ties of code enforcement.
Mr. Niemeyer was instructed to investigate and report next
meeting on administrative procedures and means of enforce-
ment used in other municipalities. Mr. Dyson is to report
on local progress.
Motion by Mr. Macon, seconded by Mr. Gates that meeting adjourn.
Motion carried.

Mr. Bateman spoke on housing code enforcement and Mr. Macon
reported that the City Attorney was drawing up an ordinance
strengthening enforcement powers of the city.
There being no further business, meeting adjourned.
