HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-02-1966 Regular MeetingFAIRHOPE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION Regular meeting, Friday, September 2, 1966 City Hall, 4:00-p.m.- - - - members present: Chairman Frederick, members: Arnold, Bung, Niemeyer, Bagnell, Gates and Pitman. Absent: members gn, acon, Spader Visitors: Mr. Yo Dyson and Dodge Minutes of previous meeting approved as read. Old Business: Motion by Mr. Bung, seconded by Mr. Arnold that time of meeting (regular), be, set for first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., beginning with Meeting of October 3, 1966. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Bung that the secre- tary be directed to insert a notice in the Fairhope Courier for the two weeks of September 8 and September 15, in- forming the public of the change in meeting date of Fair - hope Planning and Zoning Commission. Motion carried. New Business: Subdivision of Bl 47, Magnolia Beach Subdivision originally submitted for preliminary approval April 2, 1965 resub- mitted by Claude Arnold. Preliminary approval had been given "subject to requirements of sub-div. Ordinance and recommendations of Planning Consultant". Letter of August 8, 1966 from Mr. Bateman listing comments on map discussed and placed on file. It was explained that entire block in F.S.T.C. land, that streets with the exception of ea-8K-end of Orange Street have been opened and lots under lease for a number of years but that none have been recorded. Mr. Arnold was requested to comply with all possible sug- gestions of Planning Consultant and return to next meeting. Motion by Mr. Pitman, seconded by Mr. Niemeyer that the building inspector be empowered to aissue building permit on lot 21, block 47, Tost division, Magnolia Beach, this ac- tion taken, altho/violates sections of subdivision re- gulations, on basis of existing conditions, i,e, that lease had been in effect before adoptions of subdivision re- gulations, and under authority for granting variance given the Planning Commission in Article QV, paragraph H. of said regulation. Voting aye, Frederick, Arnold, Niemeyer, Bagnell, Gates, Pitman/ Voting Naye: None, Mr. Bung abstained. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Eloise T. Wilson, Secty.
