Friday, December 4, 1964 - 4 P. M. - City Hall
Present: Chairman Woolley, Members Pitman, Bung, Niemeyer, Gates,
Stipes, Macon and Frederick.
Absent: Member Bagnell.
Visitors: Mr, Lacey, Dyson, Yohn, Walker, Rickarby, Stejskal,
Mossholder, Hunt.
The Chairman announced the following appointments by City Council:
(1) Amon Gates appointed for 1 year tem, November 9, 1964
replacing J. E. Gaston, Sr. who had requested that he not
be reappointed.
(2) Floyd Bung reappointed for 3 yr. term on November 9, 1964.
(3) Jack Stipes appointed for 1 yr. term November 9, 1964
replacing Dick Spader.
Minutes were read and approved as correct to read in motion of
approval of Fairwood ##11 "(4') the Planning Commission recommend to
the City, Council that the name of Valley-Patlynn Drive, etc.
Committee Report:
Greeno Road Committee - Councilman Stipes was named to,replaee
Councilman Spader on this committee for one year. Secretary, given
names of property owners in Greeno Blvd, south of Fairhope Avenue,
was instructed to notify these owners of a committee meeting to be
held Tuesday, December 159 1964 at 7:00 P. M. at City Hall,
OLD BUSINESS:
Request of Chester Hunt to rezone property in police jurisdiction
on south Young Street from R-1 to B-1. Motion by Mr. Pitman, second
by Mr. Gates that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council

Motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Request of Robert Walker to vacate Central Blvd. from Westley
Street to Greeno Blvd. in Hedge Villa referred to Planning Commission
of the Northeast Quarter of jection 20,
Township 6 South, Range 2 Ea3t, run
-jouth 1345.5 ft. for a point of begin-
ning: thence Cast 375 ft.; thence S

thence North 200 ft. more or less to the
point of beginning. Containing 1 112
acres ,more or less and lying in Govern-
ment Subdivision No. 3, Jection 20, T6S,

by City Council at their meeting of November 23, 1964. Mr. Rickarby
representing Mr. Walker stated that this street had not been opened;
that the City had taken no action to use this street. Mr. Dyson
stated that utilities were located on this street; that the power
lines serves houses on Westley Street.
Motion by Mr. Bung, second by Mr. Stipes that the Fairhope Planning
and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council approval of the
application of Mr. Walker for the vacation of Central Blvd. from
Westley Street to Greeno Blvd. on Mr. Walker granting the City a
fifteen foot easement for utility lines, and vacating the remaining
lots, i.e. block 5 lots 1 thru 12 and block 6 lots 1 thru 15, in
Hedge Villa which are on his land. Motion carried unanimously.
Request of 0. A. Martens for vacation of Southwest corner of
lot 24, block 21, Volanta Subdivision located at Rosa and Railroad
Avenue on U. S. Highway 89.
Motion by Mr. Frederick, second by Mr. Macon that the Fairhope
Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council the
approval of the above request of 0. A. Martens. Motion carried unani-
mous ly. .
Request of John C. Glover to rezone from R-2 to B-1 lots 22, 239
24 block 5. Volanta presented for advertising for public meeting.
Application was presented to this Board by the secretary at the request
of Mr. John Huffman representing Mr. Glover.
Motion by Mr. Pitman, second by Mr. Bung that the Fairhope
Planning and Zoning Commission reject the request of Mr. John C. Glover
to advertise for rezoning lots 22, 239 24 block 5 Volanta on the
basis of the absence of a personal representative to adequately
explain his application; furthermore that permission be given to the
applicant to refile and present his application at any later date.
Motion carried unanimously.
The first Friday in January falling on New Years Day, next
regular meeting will be held January 8, 1965.
