BEGULAR AND PUBLIC -
MEETING -Friday, September, 4, 1964 1
Present: Members Frederick, Spader, Pitman, Bung, Schneider, Gaston.
Absent: Chairman Woolley, Members Bagnell, Kirk.
Visitors: James Clark, W. W. Thompson, Robert Bateman, R. C. Yohn.
In absence of Chairman, Vx. Frederick served.
Minutes read and approved as read.
Iir. Frederick, Chairman of Committee on Greeno Boulevard rezoning
reported that Committee planned meeting with property owners in near
future.
OLD BUSINESS:
Request of James Clark to rezone from R-1 to B-1 the following described
property: From the W.H. corner of Gov. Subdivision 3 Fl. Sec. 20 Fl.
T6S9 R2E run South 596 feet for a point of beginning, thence run East
428.5 feet; thence South 20 degrees west 116 feet; thence west 391 ft.,
thence north 110 feet to the point of beginning. Lot contains one acre
and is in Gov. Sub. 3 Fl. Sec. 20 Fl. T6S, R2E.
W. W. Thompson adjoining property owner appeared in favor of request:
no opposition was present.
Lotion by Mr. Pitman, seconded by Kr. Bung that the Fairhope Planning
and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council the rezoning of
the above described property. Lotion carried unanimously.
Letter from Ralph Doughtry concerning building permit on Lots 3 & 4
Gregor Subdivision requesting relief from furnishing yearly bond, but
assuring willingness to pay all improvement assessments when charged.
Letter from city attorney Rickarby giving opinion on this matter and
enclosing suggested agreement for Mr. Daughtry's signature in lieu of
bond.
A.otion by Mr. Pitman, seconded by 11r. Bung that Mr. Ralph Doughtry be
allowed to sign an agreement binding himself to support any paving
venture on Right of Way of Blue Island Avenue which abuts Lots 3 & 4
Gregor Subdivision subject to being approved by the City Council and
being put on record in County Court. Kotion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
Ridgewood Estate Unit >1 2
Preliminary plan presented by subdivider, Cecil Pitman showed boundary
line of R-1 & R-2 districts dividing block unequally. Mr. Bateman
advised subdivider to go before Adjustment Board to determine the intent
of the ordinance as to location of line. Following this, when application
is presented in proper form, action can be taken by this commission.
There being no further business meeting adjourned. Next regular I'eeting
October 2, 1964.
