HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-12-1963 Regular MeetingFairhope Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Friday,_ July 1.2, 1963 at 4:00 P.N. 1 City Hall Present: Chairman Woolley, i lmbers Gaston, Schneider, Frederick, Dyson, and Poser. Absent: Members Pitman, Kirk, and Bung. Visitors: 11r. & I-Irs. J. E. Johnson, 0. 0. Stewart, John Duck, Mrs. Brownell, Mrs. Estoup, George Dyson, R. C. Yohn, E.' G. Rickarby, and P. J. Byrne. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved as read. Chairman announced that the July 5, 1963 meeting having been postponed because of the holiday weekend, this was the regular monthly meeting. OLD BUSINESS Committee reports: 1) no report from Community Building site committee. (2) Mr. Rickarby reported that present zoning ordi- nance outlowed sign boards in Residential districts and that Southern Building Code outlines action for removal of signs; he presented a simplified Billboard Ordinance for consideration by the Commission. Motion by Mr. Dyson, seconded by 11r. Frederick, that action be deferred on the sign board ordinance until the regular August meetin and that this proposed ordinance be published and adver- tised for public hearing for that meeting. Lotion carried unanimously. (3) Application of Nahrgang and Robert of land in Fairwood - -- 2-J.? - -- - - - - -_ Candace Nahrgan south of Nchr ang, Robert R. Nahrgang, Marjory IV to rezone from R1 to R2 a rcel Gayfer Street as per attached des - g Motion by Mr. Dyson, seconded by Mayor Schneider that the Fairhope Planning & Zoning Commission recommend to the Fairhope City Council the rezoning.from R1 to R2 the above described lands. Motion carried unanimously. (4) Application of Robert R. Nahrgangand Marjory Nahrgang to ezone from R2 to R3 a parcel of land Fairwood north of -2- Motion by Mayor Schneider, seconded by Mr. Dyson that the Fairhope Planning & Zoning Commission recommend to Fairhope City Council the rejection of the rezoning.application on the above described land. Motion carried unanimously. (5) The preliminary plr_t of Charbon Woods with all requested corrections incorporated vas filed with the secretary; no final approval can be given until the street is Paved. (6) Application of Mrs. Lois Estoup as agent for Mrs. Gertrude V. Penington to subdivide S. /a lot 11 and S. /a lot 12, block 26, Division 2 Fairhope Single Tax Colony lands as per plat filed for record September 13, 1911. Motion by Mr. Frederick, seconded by Mr. Gaston that this appli- cation be rejected as application and plat not in order. Motion carried unanimously. Secretary was instructed to write ilrs. Estoup with copy sent to Mrs. Penington offering assistance of Plannin. Commission and Ifr. Bateman in correct procedure. Un- official discussion following I1rs. Estou,o's departure pointed out that neither of the proposed lots meet zoning regulations requirements. (7) ,application of J. E. Johnston lot / SeaCliff presented by O. 0. Johnston to sub lot(SeaCliff be rejected because of inadequate right of way and no dedication of right of way to the City. ,"lotion carried unanimously. Iir. Johnston requested and wan granted all papers relating to this application. Mr. Frederick leaving the meeting at this point appointed 11'r. Byrne as his voting proxy. (8) John Duck, representina L.P. Littleton, requested approval of Planning Commission for opening of Kirkman Lane east of Section Street in the continuing line thet it presently stands on the west side of Section Street. go action will be taken on this remuest until ;plat delineating exact route is presented to the,Commission. (9) A plication of firs. Julia Il. Boggs to divide the N. 132' lot 11 ��49' of lot 12 in the John 1.1. Grsen Subdivision located in the t! /a of N. E. /, Section 17-6PZas recorded in Mao Book 115 page 449 Baldwin Co.
