Mular and Public Meeting-- ridgy, dune 7, 1963 at_ 4:00 P.M. in
y Hall.
Present: Chairman l'foo l l ey,, members Dyson, Kirk, Schneider, Bung,
Frederick, and Pitman.
Absent: Members Gaston and Poser.
Visitors: Mr. Duck, Arnold, Dial, Rickarby, .1,1ilson, ,Byrne, Yohn,
and about 25 citizens interested to rezoning cases.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved as read.
OLD BUSINESS:
Mr. Bateman stated that he had studied proposed sign board ordi-
nance and made recommendations to the City Attorney. Mr. Rickarby
will report to the Commission at their next meeting.
(1) The rezoning application of Wilson and Dial having
been referred to the Commission by the City Council was again
discussed. Mr. Wilson and Mr. Dial again explained their reasons
for the rezonin request. Motion was made by Mr. Dyson, seconded
by Mr. Pitman, That in the absence of public opposition the Fair -
hope Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the Fairhope
City Council the rezoning of block one and three, but not block
two of the Hoyyle-'dorcester addition to the City of Fairhope as
requested b y 4. Walter M. Wilson and Mr. M. P. Dial, Jr. Motion
carried unanimously.
NEI? BUSINESS:
(1)The application of Candace Nahrgang, Robert R.
Nahrgang, Marjory Nahrgang, and Robert Nahrgang IV to rezone from
R-1 io R-2 parcel of land in Fairwood south of Gayfer Street;
and,, two (23 application of gg, Robert R. Nahrganga,"Q'
arJory Nahrgang from R-2 to R-3 a parcel of
id in Fairwood north of Gayfer Street. Mr. Nahrgang explained
hiv.�reasons for these requests and the restrictions he would write
ind eds. Much public opposition to both requests was voiced.
(2) Motion by Mr. Dyson, seconded by Mr. Kirk that
Fairwood #10 Subdivision, presented by George 5tejskal, be approved
as corrected. Motion carried unanimously.
(3) Chairman Woolley, leaving the meeting, relinquished
the Chairmanship to Cecil Pitman.
(4) John Duck and Thomas H. Yancev presented application
for "Charbon Woods", a subdivision of lot "D', Map Book 3, page
1 1 8, Forbes Grant -Section 7, T6S, R-2E, Baldwin County, Alabama.
Motion by Mr. Dyson, seconded by Mr. Bunq, that preliminary appro-
val be given to "Charbon ',foods" subdivision subject to:

Mr. Dyson's motion that Mr. Nahrgang's applications be tabled
died for lack of a second. (lotion by Mr. DZson, seconded b
Mr. Bung that tho Fairhope Planning and Zonin-- Commission defer
actions on both rezoning applications of Robert R. Nahrganq H-
in order to familiarize absent members of the Commission with
the cases and to reevaluate the r:sic'ential characters of the
surrounding ►'ropertics. Motion carried unanimously.
