FAIEHOPE CITY HALL
Present: Chairman -Woolley, Members Frederick, Bung, Poser, Dyson,
Schneider, Kirk
Absent: Members: Gaston, Pitman
Visitors; Mr. Bateman, Moore, Arnold, Wiggins, G. Dyson, Byrne.
Minutes of previous meeting- regular and special- were read and approved
as read.
Mr. Dyson questioned legality of consideration of vacating part of
Tensaw Ave. at a special meeting called for another purpose.
Old Business
A. iN. Moore of Moore Engineering reported on the City Garage, present-
ing plans and specifications for same. Mr. Schneider, Chairman of the
Garage Planning Committee recommended the acceptance of the plans and
specifications.
Motion by Mr. Dyson, seconded by Mr. Frederick, that the recommenda-
tion of the Garage Planning Committee be accepted and transmitted
to the City Council for action. Motion carried unanimously.
ter. Dyson reported that the Fairhope Single Tax Colony Executive
Council had been instructed to work with the City Council tovnard
removal of restrictions on Bayou Charbon deed as far east asihe east
boundary of schoill property.
Motion by Mr. Schneider, seconded by Mr. Poser, that the Fairhope
Planning and Zoning Commission employ an engineer to t,make suf�f�
ficient contour maps of the area, to ascertain the feasibility of
the project. Motion carried unanimously.
The chairman appointed Mr. Schneider, Bung and Kirk to select engineerA
ing firm for the above work.
New Business
Applicatioi} of Mrs. Kathleen Johnson for rezoning of property lo-
cated at 101 S. School Street was accepted for advertising.
Claude Arnold reported that work was being resumed on Fairwood #10
Subdivision which had been given preliminary approval Sept., 19609
when submitted by T. C. Sparks
In$le matter of obtaining right -of way to the L.D. Littleton property
Mr. Bateman advised that this was neither within the scope nor the
responsibility of the Fairhope Planning Commission and that r.
Littleton should consult his attorney.
Motion by Mr. Poser, seconded by ,r. Dyson, that Mr. Bateman and
representatives of the City Commission visit the Highway Departmant
District Engineer concerning access roads to Fairhope from the pro-
posed 4 lane highway and report back to the Commission atthe next meet-
ing. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Bateman suggested that the Planning Commission give consideration
to plans for urban renewal and/or public housing for colored.

Mr. Woolley, Poser and Bung volunteered to delineate school or public
properties owned by the Colony, City or County, on the map.
