MEEETING FRIDAY NOV. 29 1962 4P.M. CITY HALL
Chairman and all members present.
Visitors: T. Nevins, W. Olsen , G. Dyson, 17.-Ruffles, P. Byrne,
C. Arnold, C. Gaston, Mrs. S. Akridge, Mrs. T. Long.
LAND USE MAP : V;. Olson pointed out as error, designation of
loY 4, block 12; should be R-2
ZONING MAP: 11d. Ruffles, representing Material Sales Co., Inc.
;easeholder on Fairhope Avenue through to Johnson Street,zoned
M-1 on Fairhope and R-2 on Johnson, gave landuse and zoning
history of this leasehold since the 19401s; commercial use in
its entirety but residential zoning on th south end since the
1954 Zoning Ordinance. Mrs. Akridge and '�•rs. Long, representing
the property owners on Johnson street gave reasons for desirinf
Johnson Street to be zoned. and used for residential only. No
action taken,
C. Arnold, representing Lee Parker Restaurant and Motel pointed
out that this property is shown as residential on revised map
and should be business. He requested that the Parker property
on North Section street between the Parker House and the Tram-
poline Center be zoned for business also. Commissiom agreed to
first correctio,p, no action takings on the rezoning request.
W.N. Olson presnted application in good order for rezoning of
lots 4,5,6,19,20,21,22,23, in block 12, Volanta from R-2 to B-1.
No action taken.
SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS: C. Arnold suggest6dideletion of "or
qualified owners" and acceleration of acceptance on small
variances; both denied.
Motion by Mr. Pitman, seconded by Mr.Schneider, that the Fair-k
hope Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Coun-
cil the adoption of the Revised Subdivision Regulations as ap-
proved�by the Commission. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Frederick, seconded by Mr. Pitman, thatihe Fairhope
Planning and Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council the
Adoption of the Revised Zoning and Mobile Park "rdinahce as
approved by the Commission. Motion carried.
Motion by &r. Frederick, seconded by Mr. Pitman, that the Fairhope
Planning and Zoning Mommission accept theLand Use blap, the Lot and
lock `map, both as presented by Robert Bateman and Associates and
corrected by this Commission; and the Zoning Map'Ns presented by
Robert Bateman and Associates withthe following qualifications -
that the Commission readvertise for keax#ngxihaxgaaxxxagaextxxfar
pnbliaxheaxing public hearing the four requests for Zoning
changes, i.e. Makerial Sales Co.,Inc., the Lee Parker Restaurant
and Motel, the Eastern Shore Art Association, and W. N. Olson,
withthe usual notification of adjacent property owners, Motion
carried.
Mr. Schneider, chairman of the City Garage Planning Committee,
reported on inspection trip to Foley, made suggestions as to re-
quirements and recommended retaining an architect to draw up
plans and specifications.

and Zoning Commission recommend to the City of Fai�h��QQ e th�#w

and take whatever steps necessary to prepare plans for the City
Garage and Aaterial storage House and Yard.
Motion carried unanimously.
