City Hall Regular meeting of Aug. 3, 1962, postponed until Aug. 10, 1962 Present: Chairman Woolley, members Dyson, Kirk, Nelson, Schneider, Pitman. Abse nt: Members alone, Gaston, Frederick. Visitors: Mrrs. Byrne, Calhcun, Megginson, Bateme2. Old Business Municipal Building Progfam Motion by Mr. Kirk, seconded by Mr. Schneider , that the Fairhope Planning and 4oning Commission recommend to the City Council that the Council proceed with the planning of * city garage in accordance with the Council's request for priority iti,em in mun- icipal building. Motion carried unanimously. New tusiness: E. M. Megginson appeared before the Commission with a request for rezoning from R-1 to B-2, lot 6, block 9, division 2, 101 Fels Ave. His applicat-ion being in order, motion by Mr. Pitman, se- conded by Mr. Schneider, that Mr. Megginson's request for re- zoning be advertlised for public hearing at the next regular meet- ing , with Mr. Megginson paying up to fifteen ( $15.00) on the cost of advertising. Motion carried unanimously. The chairman read and accepted.a—letter of r-esignati0-aAhrom the Section Street Alley Committeyf Sam Dyson. The chairman announced that the City Council had appointed a committee on this project to work with a committee from the Chamber of Commerce so that the Planning Commission's committee was disbanded. Robt. Bateman presented the proposed new zoning map and stated that this map completed his contract with the City of Fairhope. He presented a proposed new contract as Planning Consultant. Following discussion of same, motion by Mr. Dyson, seconded by mr. Pitman T that the Planning commission recommend to t City Council that the City enter into an agreement with Roberate- man & Associates as Planning Consultants. Motion carried unani- mously. The secretary was instructed to write a letter of appreciation for the airconditioer to the City Council. She was further ins- tructed to write the State Planning with a request for six copies of the Planning Board Enabling Legislation. Next meeting regular and public Friday, Sept. 7, 1962 C
