CITY HALL Present:C hairman Woolley, members Malone, Dyson, Frederick, Schneider, Pitman, Kirk, Boone. Absent: Mr. Gaston. Visitors: Dr. Scheer, Mr. Marrington, Moore, Byrne, Who.; Mrs. Waldo. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Mrs. Irene Waldo requested the rezoning from R-2 to B-2 a strip of land on the south west corner of Oak and Summit streets, 17 ft. on Oak and 300 ft. on Summit. Motion by Mr. Schneider, seconded by Mr. Dyson, that the application of Irene Waldo fou .rezoning a strip of land 17' x 300' on the southwest corner of Oak and Summit Streets be rejected, with the suggestion that it be resubmitted in conjunction withthe adjoining property owners. Motion carried unanimously. The chairman presented for Byrd L. Moore the approved subdivision of Robert Green with preliminary plans requesting.changes in lot sizes and turning circle. Motion by Mr. Boone, seconded by Mr. Pitman, that the preliminary plan for portion of Robert, Green subdivision covering ten lots east of Ingleside, as presented by Byrd L. Moore, engineer, be approved. Motiorj carried unanimously. The secretary was instructed to notify Mr, Moore of the above action. Mr. Eldon Harrington presenteA requested permission to enlarge existing structure located on Trampoline Center on North Section Street purpose of enlarged xkrcoamte- structure , snack bar and drive-in lunch counter. Motion by Mr. Boone, seconded; by Mr. Malone that the following resolution be adopted: BE IT RESOLVED THrT THE FAIRHOPE PL/NNING AND ZONING COMMISSION concur in Mr. Harrington's request dated August 30, 1961 to build ice cream parlor as designated on plan submitted; this operation being ususal and incidental to operation of Trampoline Center. Motion carried unanimously. Dr. Scheer appeared with request for permission to build garage closer to the property line than building code permits. He was advised to appeal to the Adjustment Boards. Mr. C l akke of the Coastal Concrete Co. requested, and was given, advice on location of his proposed new plant. Mrr. Byrne prested letters from R.S. Bateman and Associates and.T. Howa rd Ellis -Arch Winter concerning employment by the Planning C ommisssion. Motion by 'Ar. Boone, seconded by Mr. Mal o e that Robert S. 'B�Stemen and Associate be employed as Pla::ning Consultants. E. Mr. Byrne was instructed to notify Mr. Bateman . Mr. L. 1. Boone.\tendered h i s resignation if rom the Planning Commission. Motion by Mr. Malone, seconded by Mr. Pitman, that the Commission accept with regrets the resignation of L.I. Boone. Motion carried. Next meeting Friday, Oct.6, 1961.
