The Airport Board met January 29, 1988 at 8:00 A.M. at the City Administra-
tion Building, 161 N. Section Street
Present: Chairman Mason McGowin, members Jim Gaston, Robert
Coiling, Jeanette Puckett, Russ Kilgore and Airport
Engineer for the project, M.L. Aust.
Mason told the Board of a letter he received from Skipper To nsmeire
with some constructive criticism, that he passed around for everyone
to see. He said he would do what he could to alleviate the problems
he pointed out.
The T-hangars were discussed. A copy of the lease was given to every-
body and after studdying it and discussion a motion was made by Jim
Gaston, seconded by Russ Kilgore and unanimously carried to approve
lease as presented. Mason mentioned the 2-2 hangars that we had extra
after the T-hangars completed could be used for storage space and
that Meg had asked for one. He had quoted her a price of $67.50 per mo.
The T. hangar leases will be retroactive to January 1, 1988. It was further
mentioned having the lessees have an extra key made and given to Meg in case
some emergency arose that we had to have access to their planes to move them.
This will be included in the letter sent them with a copy of their leases.
Jim Reid had brought in a copy of the lease with Air Charter, Inc./Jack Boykin
along with a copy of a letter he had sent to F.A.A. F.A.A. had written back
that they had problems with the original lease so it has been revised and
resubmitted. The wording had been changed but essentially he is getting
the things they asked for. M.L. showed the site plan where it is going to be.
A new case of vandalism happened at the Airport last weekend. This time
they got 15-20 lights. The Fairhope Police are still investigating.
M.L. presented estimate #3 from Mark IV contractors $3,654.00. This is
all but 10% retainage fee. This will be submitted when everything completed.
Motion to approve made by Buzz Coiling seconded by Jim Gaston, unan. carried.
M.L. reported he had been in tou<A with Newell via Dave Najors on
quantities letter. That they are still talking.
The letter we got from Spitzer as to why they did not conform to time
frame was sent on to Jim Reid.
M.L. submitted a bill for $1,237.89 for work on T-hangars. Bill was
approved for payment on motion by Jim Gaston seconded by Buzz Coiling.
Jim Reid's bills were submitted and approved on motion by Jim Gaston,
seconded by Buzz Coiling and unanimously carried.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
