Mullins, Mr. Lacey, and Mr. Byrne Guest: Mr. Moore The meeting began with a discussion of the preparation of the Project Application. After much discussion the Board a reed upon 5922.50 for contingencies. Dr. hullins then mo zoned that the Project Application be sent off as soon as possible. Dr. Mullins motioned that the City of Fairhope enter into a contract with Mr. Moore concerning the inspection and supervision of the airport for Y%, of construction costs. Mr. Lacey seconded, and the motion carried. The results of the City Council meeting were discussed. Mr. Byrne reported that the Airport Board was given the 11000.00 it asked for, and that upon the Airport Board's request, Ordinance #302 was altered to read: "official of the city." Dr. Mullins requested that a copy in the Ordinance estab- lishing the Airport Board be put n the, front of the Secretary's minute book for reference. Dr. Mullins also asked the board to note that the bid advertisements had appeared in the Fairhope Courier on June 5, 1963. Mr. Moore reviewed his contract of January 28, 1963 with the City of Fairhope. Mr. Lacey suggested that the Board make a trip to Brook- haven and other similar airports before the next meeting. Mr. Moore discussed the plans for the Airport. He pointed out that Dixie Laboratories had not been paid for previous testing they had done concerning the Airport. Mr. Moore discussed "pit" testing, and suggested that Dixie Labora- tories be given the job. He said he believed that all this testing could be done for Mio' of construction costs. ,Dr. Mullins stated that he had received a letter from Mr. Abe A. Yeager approving the plans and specifications for the Airport. Dr. Mullins also suggested that a letter be sent to ,,r. Yeager and Mr. Rountree inviting them to be present at the bid opening. Mr. Lacey talked about the road to the Airport, and said he would look into it, and would report to the Board at the next meeting. It was further suggested by Dr. Mullins that letters be sent to other AirForts in the area of recent date and airplane owners of the area asking them what suggestions they may have concerning our Airport's equipment, etc. Th3 meeting adjourned until I rids Fnter By no Secret y
