HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-03-1955 Board MeetingPLANNING BOARD MEETING June 3, 1955 - 4:00 P. M. at City Hall Members Present: Chairman Woolley, E. B. Overton, Richard Macon, C. B. Niemeyer, J. E. Gaston, Sr., Gavin Hunter, Cecil Pitman, L. C. Maury, Mrs. Rose Kamper, State Planning Board Members, Mr. Francis and Mr. Doyle. Other Visitors: Mr. R. Nahrgang, and C. Lenoir Thompson. L. C. Maury made a 6 year member of the board beginning May 25, 1955. Moved by E. B. Overton and seconded by C. B. Niemeyer that L. C. Maury be secretary of the Commission for a period of 1 year. Moved by Cecil Pitman and seconded by J. E. Gaston, Robert Nahrgang's �_Fairwood Plat #7 be accepted. Motion carried. Nahrgang plat #6 was �shown and much discussion was given this proposal. The need of a street running North from Fairwood to Gayfer-was strened. It was moved by Cecil Pitman that Nahrgang plat #6 be rejected because Section 23 of Subdivision Re#ulations adopted by the City prohibits the `( platting of land subdivisions,whieh would include blocks longer than 1200 feet in length without connecting cross streets. Seconded by J. E. Gaston. Motion carried. The balance of F irwood Subdivisi0 was discussed in general. Motion by Richard Macon t any�ctiron be deferred on overall plat of Master street plan of Fairwwood pending its resubmission and showing all changes up to date. Seconded by Gavin Hunter. Motion carried. Resolution to show the term of offices of members of this board to be inserted in July 30th, 1954 minutes. This was moved by E. B. Overton and seconded by Cecil Pitman that this resolution submitted be adopted. Moved and seconded that Chairman Woolley retain the chair for 1 year. Motion carried. Chairman Woolley appointed the Planning Commission as a whole to study the new Master Street Plan received from the State Planning Board. Next meeting set for 4:00 P. M., July 8, 1955, City Hall. Meeting adjourned. r
