Committee Member Attendees: Gary Gover; Katie Bolton; Chris Knight; Rosalie
Stromme; Bill Hall; Chris Riley; John Kavanagh
Committee Member Absentees: Jason Small; Michelle Melton.
Meeting called to order at 4:03 pm by Bill Hall
Motion carried unanimously to approve 2/2/2021 minutes.
Committee Membership: Confidential Committee Member phone list was
distributed to attendees. Robert Brown resigned from City Council and is
therefore no longer City Council representative for this committee.
***Action item: Bill Hall will contact Lisa Hanks for an appointee or volunteer
from current City Council to replace Robert Brown on this committee. ***
Triangle Property: Richard Johnson and Jessica Walker provided Bill Hall with a
proposed map of the Recreational Trails Grant -North project (copy of map
distributed at meeting to attendees); Richard and Jessica had asked Bill Hall to
write a letter of committee endorsement of this Triangle project which has
already been submitted with the grant.
***Action item: Bill Hall will provide a copy of his grant letter to the rest of the
P&B committee members. ***
*** Action item: Richard Johnson to provide an explanation of the type of surface
to be used in the map's "New 8-foot Multi-Use All Weather Surface -1.5 miles".

Bicycle Repair Station: Two stations will be needed -one at the proposed
Triangle property which was part of its entire grant request and one at the Pier
Avenue location. The Fairhope Cycling Project and/or ADECA have possible grants
to cover the Pier Avenue location.
Bicycle Friendly & Safe Community Application Update:
***Action item: Jessica Walker and Richard Johnson to complete their sections of
this application by 4/1/2021 and return it to Bill Hall so that committee can
discuss any additional information needed during 4/6/2021 meeting.***
Infrastructure Wish List: This Wish List was compiled to address specific places in
Fairhope for recommended P&B improvements; the entire master Wish List can
be accessed on the P&B Google Drive:

John Kavanagh and Gary Gover reviewed their Sidewalk observations &
comments; the following line items that have not yet been completed but are
determined to be of highest priority with the biggest positive impact for the
community are:
a) Twin Beech from Rte 13 to Rte 181;
b) Nichols from Ingleside to Bishop;
c) Morphy Ave from Greeno to Thompson Hall;
d) Blue Island and Fairwood Ave from Fairhope to Bayou and Patlynn to Jan -
TAP grant in process;
e) Patlynn from Gayfer to Greenwood;
f) Parker Road from Main St to Greeno.
Other items on the Sidewalk Wish List were reviewed and deemed to be of lower
priority affecting fewer members of the community.
****Action items: Committee will discuss during April 2021 meeting the 3 other
sections of the Wish List-Bike Parking (Michelle and Katie have already uploaded
their comments into the master list); Fairhope Lanes -(Chris Knight has already

uploaded his comments into the master list); ADA Accessibility (Chris Riley-
master list has not yet been updated online with his comments)***
Bike Rack Installations: Bike Racks on De La Mare outside of Fly Bar have still not
been reinstalled yet.
****Action items: Richard Johnson to provide status of rack reinstallation****
Police Officer Bicycle Training Seminars: Gary Gover reported that in fact no
Fairhope police department representative attended a Bicycle Safety Training
Seminar held in December 2019. Bicycles that had been used by Fairhope police
to patrol parts of the city have been put into storage and there is little
expectation that that type of patrolling will resume.
Next scheduled meeting: April 6, 2021 at 4pm -Museum Conference Room.
