Nichols Avenue Crossing: Mayor, Business Owners and Public Works approved in
March 2021 council meeting a $5,000 project of a raised crosswalk installation on
Nichols Avenue between Hope Farm on north side of street and Fairhope Brewery
on south side. Gary Gover points out that the distance from the proposed
crosswalk to the street signals may be too far to be designated as safe nor does it
appear from the plans that the intended crosswalk will be sufficiently lit.
***Action items: Gary Gover will draft a memo to Richard Johnson requesting
that the issues of crosswalk-to-signal location and crosswalk lighting will meet the
safety concerns of intended users. ***
Next scheduled meeting: May 4, 2021 at 4pm -Museum Conference Room.
Meeting adjourned at 5:00pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Rosalie Stromme, Secretary
