"Report Card " -Regarding the effort to provide data showing the progress made in Fairhope schools as a result of the enhanced funding provided by the 3-mill tax, Julie Pierce gave an overview of information compiled recently which shows results of student assessments from the past several years. It was noted that the assessment tools have changed over this period, and have not consistently aligned with the Alabama Course of Study for all subjects tested, so data is not fully comparable from year to year. Currently, ACT and ACAP are in place as the assessment tests and are expected to remain so in the foreseeable future . Analysis of trends will be more valid going forward . Principals will be working together to compile the available i nformation in a simple format, suitable for sharing with the city council later in the year. Nominating for 2023 -There was a brief discussion about planning for any potential vacant positions on the committee . All three members whose terms end this year (Danielle, Miranda, Cornelius) are eligible to serve another 3-year term. Miranda Schrubbe shared that reporting in a local newspaper indicated that Baldwin County Public Schools has approved the use of federal funds (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds -"ESSER") for implementing the Crisis Alert system in all county schools. Fairhope High and Middle Schools have used K-1 funds to provide the system, so some credit back to those funds may be expected . Meeting was adjourned at 5 :40 . Next meeting will be on September 7t h at 4:30 at Fairhope East Elementary.
