Present: Chairman Mason McGowin; members Buzz Coiling
Jim Gaston and Russ Kilgore. M.L. Aust
Consulting Engineer was present
M.L. said that the contractor was grassing to keep erosion controlled;
that marking and lighting are the only things left to do. That we
only have 10 days left in the contract. Might need to shut down until
the electrician can get the material needed and put in. Mason asked
about the drainage ditch on the East side of the runway and what
a hazard it is, shouldn't we mark it. M.L. said we could file a notim.
That was best way to handle it, maybe we would have enough money
to put in a culvert, that is what we need.
Mason noted the Contractor's estimate #7 being submitted at this time
in the amount of $193,897.51. He recommended payment subject to
Mr. Newell submitting the supplemental agreement mailed to him some
time ago. We also had bills from the engineer in the amount of $4,740.25
and $4,288.00. Buzz Coiling moved seconded by Jim Gaston to pay bills
as submitted, motion carried unanimously. We also had bills from Charlie
Allen and Henderson
Jim Gaston moved to pay these bills seconded by Buzz Coiling motion
carried unanimously.
M.L. reported on the T-hangar progress. He said he had been so
involved with helping Rohr get their septic tank problem worked out
that he did not have anything to report right now but would have
something by the next meeting. That they might be built by this fall.
Mason went over with the board the lease agreement and minimum
standards and violations of same by the fixed base operator. He said
he had talked with Meg about all of these and was going to send a letter
setting out what's wrong so she can take care of these "housekeeping"
problems .
M.L. mentioned some maintenance things that we needed to do including
sealcoating the runway/parallel taxiway. Also some electrical supplies.
He was told to order some extra beacon parts. He reported problem
we had w/beacon but that he had shown Aaron how parts needed to
be greased and he thinks everything worked out.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
