WebLinkAboutMinutesTheCityofFairhopeBoardofAdjustmentsandAppealsmetonMonday,December20,2004at5:00PMintheCityAdministrationBuilding,161N.SectionStreet.MembersPresent:Chairman;CharlieBassett,\/iceChairman;RayClark,LouisAgee,BobMannich,CathySlagle,alternate;BeckyLundberg,alternate;ChristopherBaker,AICP,DirectorofPlanning&BuildingandTraci.1ohnson,Secretary,absent:BernieFogarty.At5:00P.M.themeetingwascalledtoorderbyChairmanBassett.MemberswereaskedtoreviewtheNovember15,2004minutesforconsiderationandmakeamotiontoapprove.AmotiontoapproveaswrittenwasmadebyRayClark,andasecondbyLouisAgee.Allapproved.ZBA04-35PublicHearingtoconsidertherequestofTernCantonfora12’frontyardsetbackvarianceat113AtkinsonLane.ChairmanCharlieBassettwillnotvoteonthiscaseduetoconflictofinterest.Mrs.Carltoncameforwardstatingherdesiretobuilda28’x36detachedgaragethatwouldsitapproximately23’fromthefrontpropertyline,whereisrequired.ThestreetfrontagealongAtkinsonLaneisapproximately145.withanoveralllotdepthofapproximately85.ThereforebasedonthelegalsetbacksasassignedbytheZoningOrdinance,thereisonlyl0oflegalbuildabledepthonthelot.Mrs.Cantonwantsavariancelhra12’frontsetbacktobuildthedetachedgarage.ChairmanBassettopenedthePublichearingforcomments.NoonewaspresenttospeakandthehearingwasclosedbyChairmanBassett.CathySlagleaskedwhatwasthespaceabovethegaragegoingtousedforandMrs.Cantonstatediswasforstorage.RayClarkaskedwhatthepitchoftheroofwasgoingtobelikeandMrs.Carltonstatedshewouldlikethepitchtoreplicatethepitchofthehouse.LewisAgeeaskedwhatMrs.Carltonplannedtodoaboutdrainageandshestatedshewasplanningtousegutters.BobMannichaskedwhycouldn’tthegaragebeclosertothestoragebuildinginthebackofthepropertyandMrs.Carltonstatedthatthestepsandthewalkwaytothestoragebuildingwouldhetoclosetothegarage.AChairmanBassettaskedforthestaffcomments.t\ChristopherBakerstatedtheCityreceivedafaxedletterfromtheCockrellsopposingthevarianceforMrs.Carlton.StaffCommentsareinsertedhere:L
