TheFairhopeBoardofAdjustments&AppealsmetMonday,April21,2003at5:00PMintheDeichampsRoomoftheFairhopeCivicCenter.Present:BernieFogarty,Chairman;LouisAgee,CharlieBassett,RayClarkErikCortinas,BettyRivenbark,SecretaryØ2A6PublichearingtoconsidertheAdministrativeAppealofElissieBradleyforherpropertyat400FairlandAvenuetoputanadditionalmobilehomeonherproperty.Mrs.Bradleyspokeonherbehalfsayingthatsheneedstobringanothermobilehomethatwasgiventoherontoheroneacrepieceofproperty.Shesaidherhomeburneddownaboutayearagoandthatshemovedherpresentmobilehomeontotheproperty.Thatnowsheneedsaplacetomovehergrandsonandhissonthatshedoesnothaveroominhertrailertomovethemin.TheproblemarosewhenthepropertywasannexedintothecityasR-1SingleFamilyResidentialandhertrailerwasgrandfatheredin.R-6isthedesignatedareaformanufacturedhousing.ErikCortinasspokesayingthattheboardhastheabilitytoallowthistobebroughtinthatitisnotinconsistentwithwhatintheneighborhood.ErikfurtherstatedthatevenifallowedMrs.Bradleyneedstobeawarethatithastobeazone2ratedmobilehome.Staffrecommendationstatedthattheboardhasthepowertoallowtherequestandwouldmostlikelymeananimprovementinlivingconditionsandisnotincongruentwiththeneighborhood.Hefurtherstatedifapproveditmaybeagoodideatoputasunsetclauseonthelengthoftimethemobilehomecanbeused.BernieFogartyaskedaboutsewerandsherepliedsheisoncitywater.ItwasdeterminedthatshewasonRivieraUtilities.Eriksaidseparateresidencewouldrequiresewertapfee.Berniesaidtheissuebeforeboardtonightiswhethertograntvariancetoputanothermobilehomeonthislot.LouisAgeesaidhedoesn’tbelievethatthiswouldhaveanyadverseeffectonthisarea.Erikalsosaidnotinconsistentwithwhatintheneighborhood.ThepublichearingwasclosedandMr.Fogartyaskedforanyfurthercommentsfromtheboard.LouisAgeesaidhavingheardcaseandbeingfamiliarwiththeareaandfactthattherearealargenumberofmobilehomesthatheseestwomobilehomesononeacreasnotaproblemandmovedforapprovalwithconditionthatitbeazone2ratedmobilehomeandfurtherthatitmeetsrequirementsofbuildingcodes.CharlieBassett2ndthemotionanditcarriedunanimously.BerniewelcomedRayClarkasanewmember.Therebeingnofurtherbusiness,meetingwasdulyadjournedat5:20PM
