The Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met
April 16, 1985 at the City Administration
Building, 161 N. Section St. at 8:00 A.M.
Present: Chairman Russ Kilgore; members
Mason McGowin, Robert Colling, Trisha
Nelson and M.L. Aust Project Engineer
The Chairman informed the Board that Fair -
hope Aviation, Inc. had agreed to act as
agent in collecting the fees for tie -down
on the South ramp. Jim Reid to work up the
lease agreement. Further discussion led
to a motion by Trish Nelson to enter into
tie -down agreement(suggested form was present-
ed by Chairman and on file) with an addendum
on Article II that any unused portion can
be refunded on a month to month basis, but
not to include month of termination. i.e.
if person sells aircraft or moves. Buzz
Colling seconded and motion carried unanimously
Mason McGowin moved that date of implementation
be June 1 with a letter and lease agreement being
sent to each owner now using the ramp explaining
why we now need to charge. Trisha Nelson seconded
and motion carried unanimously.
A discussion was held on where we are on project.
A letter of credit was received for release of
funds April 25, 1985. Further discussion led
to a motion by Trish Nelson to petition the
City to advance money necessary to close
Spitzer, Jr. property(engineer needs access
to this land before project starts for testing)
money to be refunded to City when Faa funds
come in, and the Board agrees to make interest
payment from operating account. Buzz Colling
seconded motion and it carried unanimously.
The Mayor was asked to come into the meeting
and the Board explained the necessity of closing
out Spitzer Jr. property immediately. The Mayor
assured the Board that these funds could be obtained
all they had to do was let him know what needed and
which will be repaid from the funds derived from the
first draw of letter of credit of project. The Mayor
further said that if Board would let him know what
10% amount was that could be obtained.
There being no further business, meeting was duly
adjourned.
