The Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met March 22,
1984 at the Civic Center Complex at 8:00 A.M.
Present: Chairman Russ Kilgore, members Trish
Nelson, Jim Gaston, Robert Colling, David Barnhill
Meg Cosby F.B.O. at Airport
The purpose of the meeting being to discuss the rules and
regulations, minimum standards and lease with the Fixed
Base Operator.
Russ asked Meg if she had looked over the minimum standards
and how she felt about the things that were pointed out
last meeting that she was not in compliance with. She
said that she does plan to come into compliance with
the minimum standards. That she plans to have aircraft avail-
able for rental and apply for the 135 certificate. That
she didn't see any problems with the instruction and main-
tenance and inspection, that she had the mechanics on pay-
roll now. A discussion followed about the arrangement
she had with John Wimpee.and that if they wish to continue
that a contract would have to be presented to the Board
for approval. She was told that we would give her three
weeks to work on coming into compliance and that we would
meet back here 4/12/84.
The Board talked about the renewal of the 5 year fuel payment.
That it was time to renegotiate that we would have to increase
this from .03 gallon being paid now. J.E. Gaston moved,
David Barnhill seconded an increase to 04� on jet fuel and
.05G on Av gas for the next five years, motion carried unanimous-
ly.
The Board talked about putting the runway lights on remote
control, and also leasing the ramps to the FBO and having
FBO collect the rent and pay city a portion.
The oil lease agreement was discussed with a motion by J.E.
Gaston to execute same with Hughes & Hughes if they agree to
the amendments suggested by Jim Reid.(This forwarded to Council)
The Board held over for discussion at the next meeting the
assignment to First Mississippi Bank .
Russ informed Board that we had a letter from Elton Jay that
he was acknowledging receipt of the waivers needed and was
on top of the project, it was under consideration and review.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
