Section Street Donald Coogan, Chairman; Buzz Colling, Jim Gaston, David Barnhill, were present. Trisha Nelson was absent due to a doctor's appoint- ment. A delegation of pilots that fly at the Fairhope Municipal Airport were present to address the Board. They included Gilbert Wesley, Lee Statler, John Hall, Bill Heath, Mason McGowan and Dr. Eubanks. Gilbert Wesley addressed the Board stating several allegations of misuse by the present manager, who is running the airport since Phil Bass filed Chapter 11. He told the Board that he along with the others present felt that things were not right at the airport and stated that on two occasions nosegear had been broken, that a wing on his plane had been damaged and that another plane had been damaged when it was not tied down right and bad weather blew the plane loose into another plane. He also told the board that they were keeping the South gate locked, and that it was terribly inconvenient to unload airplanes or get to them with this gate locked. He told of an incident occuring with Mrs. Cosby and his wife that he alleged Mrs. Cosby wouldn't let his wife drive down to unload a plane he was on and even in fact tried to take the keys away from her when she attempted to go down on the ramp. He further stated that the grass was knee high and that he felt the Board was not doing its duty in not putting an airport manager there who would run an operation for people interested in aviation. That at this time all the personnel at Bass are building furniture for two bars, Yesterdays and Studebakers. Mr. Coogan told Mr. Wesley that we were in contact with Mrs. Cosby and knew that something had to be done permanently at the Airport that we in fact were working on some Airport Rules & Regulations that would help the situation. That since the Chapter 11 filing we were trying to work with Mrs. Cosby in running things, that we knew she was not a professional airport operater. He also asked Mr. Wesley why he had not paid the tie - down fees at the airport that all the other pilots were paying. He answered that because of the trouble with his planes he felt they were incompetent and that in the lease it did not give the FBO the right to charge or collect these fees. Further discussion led to Mr. Coogan agreeing to talk to Mrs. Cosby and see that the gate is opened in the future. He further stated he would be in contact to see if all things mentioned today were in fact true and get Mrs. Cosby's comments. At this time the delegation left and the Board discussed and later adopted a set of Airport Rules and Regulations. Motion by Jim Gaston, 2nd by Dave Barnhill, and unanimously carried. There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
