The Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met for a bid opening
on Airport Improvements on ADAP Project #5-01-0029-03 on July 7,
1980 at 2:00 p.m. at the City Administration Building, 387
Fairnope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama. Chairman Russ Kilgore
called the meeting to order and read the bids. Other members
present were C.O. McCawley, Jim Gaston, and M.L. Aust, Consult-
ing Engineer.
The bids were as follows:

There were no bids received from Couch, Inc. or Okaloosa Asphalt Enter. of
Mobile, Ala.
J.E. Gaston moved to accept the presentation of the bids,.and that they be
turned over to the engineer for tabulation and evaluation, and recommendation.
McCawley seconded and motion carried unanimously.

M.L. Aust told the Board the next steps were to tabulate the bids,
give tentative award of contract, get the appraisals in and submit
a "statement of just compensation" to Jackson. Also have to get
with Mason McGowin on the land acquisition.
The Board on motion recornnended to the Mayor the execution of the
engineering contract(which the Council has already approved)
sarne being presented to the Board on this date. J.E. Gaston seconded
Mr. McCawley's motion and it carried unanimously.
The Board also moved for Mr. Aust to go to Jackson for ADAP Proj. #03
Motion was made by Mac McCawley, seconded by J.E. Gaston. The trip
being to deliver the appraisal and the Statement of Just Compensation
Discussion followed on what is going on at the Airport and the possible
need for a special meeting as soon as something is decided about the
land acquisition.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
