The Airport Board of the City of Fairhope met on May 1, 1930 at 9:00 A.M.
at the City Administration Building, 337 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama
Those members present: Chairman Russell Kilgore; Members Jim Gaston,
Mac McCawley and IA L L. Aust, Consulting Engineer
We have received a letter from F.A.A. District Office in Atlanta informing
us that we have to hire minority business groups since we are using grant
money. M.L. Aust said he will be in further contact with the F.A.A. office
and get back with us later on what he finds out.
M.L. showed the Board members a layout of the different parcels of land
we are considering buying adjoining the property we now own at the Airport.
And asked which we wanted to go ahead with. Mac McCawley moved to have
the appraisers go ahead with parcels F.G.H.I. of Exhibit A property map
Project #5-01-0029-03. J.E. Gaston seconded and motion carried unanimously.
M.L. also explained to the Board members that he is having a problem with
a shortage of dirt and grading where we are building the new ramp. There
was a discussion on the different things we could do to solve the problem
and it was decided to recess and meet at the airport for further discussion.
At the Airport there were no solutions worked out, and M.L. Aust will continue
the study and report back.
There being no further business, meeting was duly adjourned.
