The Airport Board of the City of Fairhope held a meeting on Friday, September 21, 1979 at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope Alabama. with Chairman Russ Kilgore presiding. Those present: Jim Gaston, Mac'McCawley, and M.L. Aust. Russ reported that the hurricane had destroyed the electrical and electronic systems at the Airport. That we were eligible for a Federal Grant from F TA and that he thought we could go ahead and make a draw from the estimated amount of the application. Jim Gaston moved, Mac McCawley seconded a motion to proceed with the MIA grant in order to get the Airport working again as soon as possible. Tbtion was carried unanimously. This application is to be. separate from but in conjunction with the City of Fairhope, acting as their agent. A motion was made to authorize M.L. Aust to proceed with engaging aiairport oriented crew to do the work at the Airport so we could accomplish operations as soon as possible. Mac McCawley moved, seconded by J.E. Gaston to restore all the elec- trical systems back at the Airport to a normal state, motion carried unanimously. Nbtion was made by Mac McCawley, seconded by Jim Gaston to write letter to Bass Aviation(copy attached) stating no construction could begin at the Airport until the plans and specifications had been submitted and approved by the Airport Board as stated in paragraph 4 of the master lease the City of Fairhope has with Bass Aviation. M.L. Aust submitted a letter(copy attached) and invoices on the work he has been doing at Airport. Mr. Gaston moved for acceptance of the submission of the invoices, Mr. McCawley 2nd and motion carried unanimously. Mr. Gaston moved to accept the costs to the .engineer for the extra time he has worked at the Airport and also to accept the letter lated 9/7/79. Mr. MICCawley seconded and motion carried unanimously. A motion was also made to pay the submitted invoices as funds become available. TZotion carried unanimously.
