Mr. Kilgore suggested to F.A.A. arranging a meeting with Airport Board, Mr. Read, Bass Aviation, State Board and F.A.A. Mr. Read was called and asked if he would agree to this meeting and said"to forget it, he was leaving the Fairhope Airport." The Airport has received a letter from H.O. Weaver Construction Co. concerning possible correction of the overlay on the runway at the Airport(letter attached) If this test strip is accepted by the Airport Board, the Board would in essence be saying once we put this down everything is O.K. and we are accepting same. It is a line item, and will be expected to go through on the 1979-1980 Fiscal Budget. Which would mean we could get specs. together and go out on bids maybe by October. Russ Kilgore also has a verbal commitment of $50,000 from the State Department of Aeronautics to help with the matching finds we would have to have. Mr. Kilgore and Mr. Gaston discussed the new hanger that Bass Aviation is proposing to put up and the best place for it. Both thought it would be to his advantage to place this South of his current hanger and are going to strongly suggest this opinion to him. Mr. Kilgore and Mr. Gaston voted to take $40,000 and purchase two Certificates of Deposit for $10,000 for 90 days, and two Certificates of Deposit for $10,000 for six months with the First National Bank of Baldwin County.
