Arts Alley Project Update
Look for exciting news on the arts components of this
project, funded by a grant from the Alabama Depart-
ment of Transportation and Metropolitan Planning Or-
ganization, should begin in late May!
The plan, which focuses on the alley that runs be-
side the Fairhope Parking Garage between Section
and Church Street, includes a transportation hub and
public restroom while also updating drainage, lighting
and surfaces and adding landscaping.
Construction on the project is expected to take ap-
proximately 180 total days, with a goal of having the
alleyway ready to go on or before Tree Lighting on
November 18th. There may be impacts to traffic and
parking as work commences and continues through-
out the summer, but the end result is expected to be
a huge upgrade for the downtown area.
The City of Fairhope returns with the 6th Annual “Glow in the
Park Summer Movie Series,” guaranteed to light up your sum-mer nights with three free family movies on the second Thurs-
days in June, July, and August. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic (no alcohol or
glass containers) and relax with the whole family. The Down-town Fairhope Business Association will have FREE popcorn
and will be giving away glow-in-the-dark necklaces before the movie. The movies will be shown at 8 p.m. at Fairhopers Com-
munity Park located at 105 S Church Street.

As we move into the summer months, I hope you
make time to enjoy the endless possibilities our
City has to offer.
Students are out of school for the summer and
family outing and trips are in full swing. I hope
you take in a movie in the park, attend the summer
farmer’s market, watch a sunset at the pier, stroll
along the bay or enjoy a picnic on the bluff. Fair-
hope has so much to offer and we are lucky to call
this place our home.
Have a great summer!
Sherry Sullivan, Mayor
