The money from Homeland Security will be used to purchase 400 barricades to use in place of the cable during parades making our parade routes fully-barricaded. Additionally, the new barricades will be “safety orange” for visibility and are much lighter than the current metal barricades but just as durable. Homeland Security hands out only six grants in the State of Alabama to prevent risks and improve safety.
