Barricade grant funding
The City of Fairhope was awarded a
$50,000 grant to improve the safety of
parades and city events.
The money from Homeland Security will
be used to purchase 400 barricades to
use in place of the cable during parades
making our parade routes fully-barricaded.
Additionally, the new barricades will be
“safety orange” for visibility and are much
lighter than the current metal barricades
but just as durable.
Homeland Security hands out only six
grants in the State of Alabama to prevent
risks and improve safety.
The City of Fairhope is proud to announce the
implementation of a Citizenserve permitting portal
that will allow residents and customers to submit
and pay for permits fully online.
While more will be added in the coming months,
the current available online permits are Land
Disturbance, Generator, Right-of-Way and
Residential Small Project, including deck, roof,
plumbing, demolition, windows, pergola, electrical
and mechanical.
In order to utilize the portal, users must register
then follow the prompts to provide the required
application information. Once the process is
successfully completed and submitted, users will
receive an email showing the submittal has been
received and is under review. After the permit
has been submitted, you can log in and check the
progress of the application.
Once a permit has been approved and ready for
issuance, you will receive an email prompting you
to pay permit fees online and will then be issued a
printable permit card.
