City Councilman representative: None were in attendance. _______________________________________________________
Meeting called to order at 4:01pm by Bill Hall. Motion carried to approve 7/5/2022 minutes. Administrative Items: City Council members have approved committee 3-year term extensions
for Gary Gover, Katie Bolton and Chris Riley. This committee stillhas one open position; everyone is encouraged to contactany Fairhope residents who might be interested in serving. E-Bike,
Low Speed Vehicles (i.e.golf carts) and Scooters: Any moving violations associated with these type of vehicles are at the discretion of the law enforcement officer at the time of the
incident. Monetary penalties for these infractions are already in City of Fairhope codes therefore no additional action is needed from this committee at this time. Complete Streets Resolution
Draft:The final version of this Complete Streets Resolution has been submitted to Hunter Simmons for possible adoption at the city council level.
Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee Input for city projects:
Working Waterfront Project –No further information from Jessica Walker.
Triangle Project – City of Fairhope’s council has selected the engineering firm which will provide design details as part of their bid award.
Sidewalk Improvements: Chris Riley has selected a “Mardi Gras” artistic theme concept for the Rambo’s Auto Service sidewalk painting.
***Action Item: Chris Riley will contact Richard Johnson to begin the implementation of the Rambo sidewalk painting project.
ARCGIS Field Maps Application: Master Software records committee member contributions so overlapping sidewalk inventory should be easily avoided.
***Action Item: Whenever and wherever time and weather allow, each committee member shall continue to update Fairhope’s sidewalk inventory in the realtime application; Chris Ambron is
automatically notified when this website is updated by any of the committee members.
Comprehensive Land Use presentation: Members voted to prioritize the top three issues as a recommendation to the city council:
Plan and Maintain Multi-Use Paths & Greenway Trails
Plan and Maintain Recreational Amenities and Cultural Resources commensurate with Fairhope’s population.
Develop a Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan to Improve Sidewalk Connectivity.
One of the break-out workshops facilitated by the Comprehensive Land Use consultants included mapping out recommended new paths and sidewalks indicated by Katie Bolton and Amy Paulson.It
is expected that this mapping will be included in the final consultant presentation to be held sometime in October 2022.
Environmental Advisory Board: City of Fairhope Environmental Advisory Board and this committee share two areas of prominent overlap: Comprehensive Land Use project and the Triangle Property.
***Action Item:Bill Hall and Katie Bolton will attend the next Environmental Advisory Board meeting to discuss effective ways to combine efforts on those shared goals for recommendations
to the Fairhope City Council.
Next scheduled meeting: September 6, 2022 at 4pm in the Library’s Second Floor Boardroom.
