Minutes of Fairhope Airport Authority
April 16, 2019
The Fairhope Airport Authority met April 16, 2019 at 4:00PM in the Council
Chambers at 161 N Section Street.
Present: Joe McEnerney, Chairman, Pam Caudill, Will Bruce, Vince Boothe, and
Chip Groner. Jack Burrell and Ray Hix were absent. Also present was Josh Myrick,
Attorney and Amy Pearson, Airport Treasurer. Cynthia A Boothe took the
minutes.
· The Minutes of the March 19, 2019 were considered and approved with a motion
by Pam Caudill, second by Vince Boothe and unanimously passed.
Update of the East side construction project at the Airport: The East side
construction is approximately 90% complete and all construction should be
completed by May 10, 2019.
Review of applications received pursuant to the "Notice of Availability'' for
hangar ground leases on the East side of the Airport: Joe McEnerney stated that
four responses have been received in response to the "Notice of Availability. After
a brief group discussion, Pam Caudill made a motion for Chip Groner and Vince
Boothe to talk to all the applicants and report back to the Authority at the next
meeting. A second was made by Will Bruce and it was unanimously passed.
Review and approval of a "Notice of Availability'' for hangar ground leases on
the West side east of the Public Safety hangar: Joe McEnerney reported that
there is interest in the hangar pad east of the Public Safety Hangar for a hangar
ground lease. He sent a copy of the draft "Notice of Availability" to all Authority
members for review. After a group discussion Joe made a motion to have Hank
Eubanks determine maximum size to the hangar that can be built on the pad and
have Josh Myrick review the Public Safety Building lease for compliance. There
was a second by Pam Caudill and it was unanimously passed.
Update on the Authority's insurance including a discontinuation of "hangar
keepers" insurance: Joe McEnerney reported that the hangar keeper's insurance
has been dropped from the aviation policy will be paid shortly. He reported that
all the other insurance has been paid.
Update on Runway and Taxiways light bulb replacements and relat_ed repairs:
Chip Groner stated that there was 1 runway and I taxiway light fixture out and we
are waiting on the electrician to repair them.
Airport Manager and Continental Aerospace Technologies Report: David

AWOS sound card -The AWOS "sound card" was installed yesterday
Weather stripping on T-hangar -Continental Aerospace has repaired the verticals
weather stripping on T-hangar and is working on a solution for replacing the
skirts.
Additional landscaping at the entrance along the North Hangar-Continental
Aerospace is power washing and removing grass boarding the North Hangar.
Replacement of sky lights in South hangar (Avionics hangar) -Continental
Aerospace is in the process of installing LED replacement lights before the
removal of the sky lights.
Power washing/restriping of Runway and Taxiways -Chip Groner stated that he
has requested to see the ALDOT report to see if this needs to be done at this time.
Vehicle parking at the Airport-Continental Aerospace is moving employee parking
to the back gravel lot.
Treasurer's Report: Amy Pearson reported that the financials are in good order
and went over the expenses for March 2019. Joe McEnerney stated that we plan
to purchase a CD for $100,000 with funds from the Money Market account. This
will increase the Authority's interest income
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 4:55PM .
