Determination that there is a Quorum for the meeting 3. Replacement of lights inside the Public Safety Hangar 4 . Discussion of Opening of the east side apron / taxiway a. Safety issues and Airport Authority liability associated with opening the east side apron / taxiway b. Comments from Continental Aerospace Technologies in respect to leasing the east side apron / taxiway -Matt Owen c. FAA 's prospective on leasing the east side apron/ taxiway -Hank Eubanks 5. Adjourn the meeting Schedule of Future Meetings: March 17, 2020 (Note: Regular meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, AL.) Minutes of Fairhope Airport Authority Special Meeting March 2, 2020 The Fairhope Airport Authority met March 2, 2020 at 4:00PM in the Council Chambers at 161 N Section Street. Present: Joe McEnerney, Chairman, Vince Boothe, Jack Burrell, and Chip Groner. Will Bruce, Amy Pearson and Don Lagarde were absent. Also present was Josh Myrick, Attorney. Cynthia A Boothe took the minutes. Replacement of lights inside the Public Safety Hangar: Joe McEnerney stated that the lights in the Public Safety Hangar need replacing and it will cost approximately $2,500. Vince Boothe made a motion to replace the lights, second by Chip Groner and unanimously passed . Discussion on opening of the East Side apron/taxiway: Safety issues and Airport Authority liability associated with opening the East Side apron/taxiway -Hank Eubanks stated that all work and stripping has been completed and that the apron/taxiway is ready to open . After a group discussion it was decided that chevron barriers would be placed to block access to the hangar taxiways and cones would be placed in areas of other areas of concern . Comments from Continental Aerospace Technologies in respect to leasing the east side apron/taxiway -Matt Owen, Operations Di rector for Continental Aerospace, gave a report of what facilities and functions Continental has at the Airport. A general discussion followed opening focused on using the East ramp area for overnight parking and should an overnight parking fee be charged . Following the discussion, it was decided to study the number of ai rcraft, fuel sales and overnight stays and come back to the April meeting with a suggested cost of an overn ight stay if justified. Following the above discuss ion, a motion was made by Vince Boothe to take down the barriers and open the East Side, a second by Joe McEnerney and unanimously passed . Hank Eubanks of Volkert Engineering presented a copy of the new "Ultimate" build out for the southwest side of the Airport for the Authority to look over and make comments if necessary . There being no further business a motion was made by Jack Burrell to adjourn the meeting, second by Vince Boothe and unanimously passed. Joe McEnerney, Chairman
