HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-09-1978 Regular MeetingThe Fairhope Municiple Airport Board met in regular session on Monday, January 9, 1978 at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Ave, Fairhope, Alabama at 2:30 p.m. with the following members present: Chairman: J. Russell Kilgore Members: James Gaston , Billy D. Wiggins Consulting Engineer: M.L. Aust City Attorney: John V. Duck J. Kilgore presented a bill from Phil MaCarthy for the completed work done on the roof over the office at the Airport. Mr Kilgore and D. Wiggins inspected and approved the work. Motion made by Don Wiggins, seconded by J. Gaston to approve the invoice for payment. Motion carried. J. Kilgore presented a bill form Jim Boothe Contractor + Supply Co., Inc. in the amount of $467.00 for the interior ceiling work at the Airport. J. Gaston and R. Kilgore inspected and approved the work. Motion made by J. Gaston, seconded by D. Wiggins to approve invoice for payment. Motion carried. The Board acknowledge the receiving of the grant from the State Department of Aeronautics in the amount of $33,000.00 which represents 100% of the grant under this project. It was request that the secretary convey a letter of receipt to the State Aeronautics Department, James Rowe, Montgomery, Ala. The Board received a pay request transmitted by M.L. Aust from Dixie Laboratories, invoices #17132, 17139 for a total amount of $6,401.50. Project Engineer M.L. Aust inspected the invoices and suggested the board approve them for payment. Motion made by J. Gaston, seconded by D. Wiggins to pay the invoices. Motion carried. Board received pay request #3 transmitted by M.L. Aust form H.O. Weaver on the ongoing project in the amount of $106,975.80. Consulting Engineer received the estimate, reviewed it subject to final adjustment and approval. Motion made by J. Gaston, seconded by D. Wiggins to pay invoice when funds are available from FAA. Baord received a copy of the deed, transmitted by John V. Duck for the Avaiation Easement & Fee Simple in connection with the project. $4,000.00 has been paid for the option at an earlier date: $1,000.00 for Fee Simple for Parcel D $3,000.00 for Fee Simple for Parcels E & F Leaving a balance due of 36,000.00. $9,000.00 for easement Parcel D 27,,000.00 for easement Parcels E & F 1v o I Motion made by D. Wiggins, seconded by J. Gaston to accept the deed as presented and pay the Trustees. Motion carried. BOX Y FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA 36532 January 9, 1978 Fairhope Airport Board Fairhope, Alabama Gentlemen: Pursuant to your request, I have as of this date examined one deed from J. Greeley McGowin, II, E. Mason McGowin, Jr. and Nicholas S. McGowin as trustees under that certain Trust instrument of November 24, 1971, executed by Earl M. McGowin and referred to as the Trust for the primary use and benefit of E. Mason McGowin, Jr. and his family; And the said J. Greeley McGowin, II, he made E. Mason McGowin, Jr. and Nicholas S. McGowin as Trustees under that certain Trust Agreement of November 24, 1971, executed by Earl M. McGowin and referred to as the Trust for the primary use and benefit of Florence M. Raines and her family. I have found that the Deed is in proper form and upon it being duly executed, would convey a good and proper title to the property described therein. I have further exemained the Avigation Easement from the same Grantors to the City of Fairhope, and find that the instrument is in proper order and upon it being duly executed will convey the avigation easement as described therein.
