HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-05-1977 Special Meeting19 1 THE FAIRHOPE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT BOARD Minutes for the 8etober 5, 1977 meeting The Fairhope Municipal Airport Board met in special session on Thursday, October 5, 1977, at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Ave, Fairhope, Alabama at 5:30pm with the following members present: Chariman: J. Russell Kilgore Members: Billy Don Wiggins Project Engineer,, M.L. Aust Absent: James Gaston Don Wiggins moved, seconded by J. Russ Kilgore to present an option of purchase for parcel No. 1 as noted in ADA application no 5-01-10029-02 also for parcel 2 and 3. Obligation easement -for the total purchase price of $40,000 will be the amount of $4,000 of which will be applicable to total purchase price. These are reflected on'the DEF application. (See attached letter M.L. Aust) Motion Carried. .► Don Wiggins moved, seconded by Russ Kilgore'to'accept the Dixie Laboratories contract (See Attached copy).k.Motion Carried. The preliminary expense for the Airport Project follows: Soil Testing $510.50 Prem. Contract 6500.00 TOPO 2376.26 Copies #10 25.83 258.83 Land purchase 10000.00 Land easement 30000.00 Appraisal (Mr Edge) 500.00 Review (Mr Bell) 300.00 40,800.00 Don Wiggins Moved, seconded by Kilgore to accept these bills. Also to authorize'to pay request #1 on the basis to submit the request to FIfA. Motion carried. UeJeah: AA has requested that an informal agreement be acted upon between Dixie Laboratories and the Fairhope Airport Board in regard to your furnishing of inspection and testing services for the reF rented project. An.you,know, the fee schedule for the furnishing of these ser- vices was made a part of my contract with the City of Fairhope and was based on the fee schedule as furnished to me. The intent was to have dour billings pass directly through me for my approval ana then directly to the City for payment to be charged to the Airport Board's account. Drawer AS Fairhope, Alabama 36532 Re: Fairhope Municipal Airport FAA Project No. 5-01-0029-02 Gentlemen: We propose to furnish testing and inspection services as directed by the Engineer for the above referenced project at the fees and rates herewith designated. Services: Senior Soils Technician ------- $17.50 per hour Senior Engineering Technician ---- $15.00 per hour Inspection Technician ----- $10.00 per hour Testing of Construction Materials: Asphalt DesigQ,,Mix (includes confirmation) -- $300.00 each Asphalt Extraction (Minimum of 2 per day) --- $35.00 each Marshall Stability and Flow (Minimum of 3 per day) -- $30.00/ set of 3 Asphalt Cores, irfcluding density and thickness tests -- $12.50 each Soil Analysis (Atterberg Limits and Gradation) -- $25.00 each Vehicles: $.20 per mile from laboratory to job site and return. It should b2 acknowledged and understood that work has been previously accomplishe-A on the referenced project prior to the date of this letter and this proposal is a reiteration of agreements previously reached.
