COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at
6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Monday, 8 Aoril 2019.
Present were Council President Jack Burrell, Councilmembers: Jay Robinson,
Jimmy Conyers, and Robert Brown, Mayor Karin Wilson, City Attorney Marcus E.
McDowell, and City Clerk Lisa A. Flanks. Councilmember Kevin Boone was absent.
There being a quorum present. Council President Burrell called the meeting to
order at 6:05 p.m. The invocation was given by Michael Walker Minister of Music
with Rivertown Community Church and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Council President Burrell stated there was a need to add on an agenda item
after Agenda Item Number 27: a resolution that Mayor Karin Wilson is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with GeoCon Engineering & Materials Testing, Inc.
for Professional Geotechnical Testing and Engineering Services for Electrical
Transformer Relocate ("Site 1"); Nichols Avenue and Young Street with a cost of
$2,760.00.
Councilmember Conyers moved to add on the above-mentioned item not on
the printed agenda. Seconded by Councilmember Robinson, motion passed
unanimously by voice vote.
Councilmember Robinson moved to approve minutes of the 25 March 2019,
regular meeting; minutes of the 25 March 2019, work session; and minutes of the 25
March 2019, agenda meeting. Seconded by Councilmember Brown, motion passed
unanimously by voice vote.
Council President Burrell read the next agenda item: Amend February 25,
2019 minutes by adding the Mayor's Report. He stated this a business meeting of the
City Council; and the report is not actions taken by the City Council. Council
President Burrell said we would need a resolution to add on the Mayor's Report.
Councilmember Robinson questioned how the Council comments were put in the
minutes. City Clerk Lisa Hanks replied the comments are just a summary of each
Councilmember's comments. Councilmember Robinson said then this should be the
same for the Mayor's comments. Mayor Wilson said that she would read the report
as part of the minutes from this point forward. The minutes from February 25, 2019
were not amended.
