PRESENT WERE MAYOR NAMES P. Nix; COUNCILMEMBER JOHN V.
DUCK, MICHAEL A. FORD, DEBBIE W. QUINN, JEANETTE PUCKETT, WILLIAM
H. JONES; CITY ATTORNEY MARION E. WYNNE, AND CITY CLERK GENIECE W.
JOHNSON. NO ONE WAS ABSENT.
THERE BEING A QUORUM PRESENT, MAYOR NIX CALLED THE MEETING
TO ORDER. COUNCILMEMBER JONES SO MOVED TO APPROVE MINUTES OF
THE 25 OCTOBER 1 999, REGULAR MEETING. SECONDED BY
COUNCILMEMBER QUINN, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
CHRISTOPHER BAKER DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND BUILDING
ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL TO PRESENT CERTIFICATES TO ELEVEN GROUPS
THAT WERE MADE THE FINALIST IN THE WORLD TOWN PLANNING DAY PROJECT.
THE GRAND WINNERS WERE: CHRISTIAN CARALEY, CATHERINE BRADLEY,
KATHRYN REYNOLDS, SABRINA STRANGE. THE GRAND WINNERS WILL RIDE ON
THE FIRE TRUCK DURING THE CITY'S CHRISTMAS PARADE 3 DECEMBER
1999, 7:00 P.m.
A PUBLIC HEARING WAS HELD AS ADVERTISED ON A PROPOSED
ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANCE. COUNCILMEMBER JONES
INTRODUCED IN WRITING ORDINANCE. 1073. THE PLANNING be ZONING
COMMISSION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THIS ORDINANCE. AN ORDINANCE
TO ESTABLISH REGULATIONS REGARDING LIGHTING FOR SERVICE (GAS)
STATION CANOPIES. NO ONE PRESENT WAS OPPOSED TO THE AMENDMENT.
IN ORDER TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION COUNCILMEMBER QUINN MOVED TO
SUSPEND THE RULES. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER DUCK MOTION TO
SUSPEND THE RULES PASSED UNANIMOUSLY BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: AYE -
DUCK, FORD, QUINN, NIX, PUCKETT, AND JONES. NAY -NONE.
COUNCILMEMBER JONES THEN MOVED FOR FINAL ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE
NO. 1073. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER QUINN, MOTION FOR FINAL
ADOPTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: AYE -DUCK,
FORD, QUINN, NIX, PUCKETT, AND JONES. NAY -NONE.

ADOPTION OF THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER
PUCKETT, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
RESOLUTION NO. 667-99
LANDLORD'S CONSENT TO ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE
WHEREAS, a lease agreement dated June 28, 1995 (`Lease") between Teledyne Continental
Motors, a division of Teledyne Industries, Inc. ("Tenant") and City of Fairhope ("Landlord")
relating to property located in Fairhope, Alabama at the Fairhope Municipal Airport.
WHEREAS, Allegheny Teledyne Incorporated in connection with the spin-off of its aerospace
and electronics segment into a new public company known as Teledyne Technologies
Incorporated. Teledyne Technologies Incorporated will principally consist of four divisions of
Teledyne Industries, Inc. that make up Allegheny Teledyne's aerospace and electronics segment:
Teledyne Electronic Technologies, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Teledyne Continental Motors,
and Teledyne Cast Parts.
WHEREAS, It is expected that the spin-off will be completed before the end of this year.
WHEREAS, in connection with the spin-off, Teledyne Industries, Inc. requests your consent to
the assignment of the lease from Teledyne Continental Motors, a division of Teledyne Industries,
Inc., to the new company.
WHEREAS, for good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby
acknowledged, Landlord hereby consents to the assignment of the Lease by Tenant to Teledyne
Technologies Incorporated ("Assignee") and to the assumption by Assignee of Tenant's
obligations under the Lease arising from and after the effective date of such assignment. Such
assignment, however, shall not limit, restrict and otherwise affect Tenant's liability under the
terms of the Lease.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE,
ALABAMA, THAT MAYOR JAMES P. NIX IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO SIGN A
CONSENT TO ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE.

THE ADOPTION OF THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION. SECONDED BY
COUNCILMEMBER DUCK, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
RESOLUTION NO. 668-99
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE,
ALABAMA, THAT Mayor James P. Nix is hereby Authorized to Lease the Pad at the
Fairhope Municipal Airport to a local corporation that is interested in constructing a
Hanger and office facility, and authorized to improve the drainage in the veracity of
where this structure will be erected. The structure shall be constructed at the far
Southwest corner of the airport, and shall be approximately 150 X 150 in size.

STARK IRVINE ADDRESSED TO COUNCIL TO DISCUSS A POTENTIAL
DIRECTIONAL SIGN FOR WINN-DIXIE AND THE ABC STORE AT THE CORNER OF
FAIRHOPE AVENUE AND LOTTIE LANE. THE SIGN IS CURRENTLY LOCATED ON
PRIVATE PROPERTY. IF THE PROPERTY EAST OF EASTERN SHORE SHOPPING
CENTER IS PURCHASED AND DEVELOPED INTO A SUBDIVISION MR. IRVINE
HOPE TO MAKE LOTTIE LANE A MUNICIPAL STREET. AT THIS TIME THE SIGN
WOULD BE ON CITY PROPERTY. THE COUNCIL MUST GRANT PERMISSION TO
HAVE A DIRECTIONAL SIGN ON CITY PROPERTY. IF MR. IRVINE'S REQUEST IS
GRANTED THEN THE BALDWIN SQUARE SHOPPING CENTER OWNERS WILL BE
ASKED TO AGREE ON A SIGN STYLE (A STITCHED SIGN WAS PRESENTED), AND
PRESENT THE NEW SIGN TO THE COUNCIL FOR APPROVAL BEFORE
INSTALLATION. COUNCILMEMBER JONES MOVED TO GRANT THE REQUEST AS
LONG AS MR. IRVINE WORK WITH WINN-DIXIE AND ABC STORE ON THE SIGN
STYLE. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER PUCKETT, MOTION PASSED

WILL BE DUG TO PREVENT THE WATER RUN-OFF, BUT NOTHING COULD BE
DONE ABOUT THE HOUSE BECAUSE THIS WAS PRIVATE PROPERTY.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS TO COME BEFORE THE COUNCIL THE
MEETING WAS DULY ADJOURNED AT 5:55 P.M.
