SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER QUINN, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. MARY HODGKINS ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL TO ANNOUNCE THAT 23 OCTOBER 1999, WILL BE OBSERVED NATIONALLY AS MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY. IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN BALDWIN COUNTY, THE VOLUNTEER ACTION BOARD MEMBERS ARE HOSTING AN ASSEMBLY OF PUBLIC DISCUSSION TO EDUCATE THE ADULTS ON HOW TO CREATE A DRUG -FREE COMMUNITY. RESOLUTION NO. 662-99 WHEREAS, this agreement shall be between the Alabama Department of Transportation acting by and through its Transportation Director hereinafter referred by as the STATE and THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE a Utility hereinafter referred to as the APPLICANT; and, WHEREAS, the Applicant desires to have it facilities accommodated on public highway right-of-way in BALDWIN County, Alabama, said project or maintenance section being designated as 12 inch water main, and consisting approximately of the following: To construct said water main along Hwy 98 from State Hwy 104 to Rock Creek Subdivision ; and, WHEREAS, the STATE hereby grants to the APPLICANT approval to cross and locate its facilities on the public right-of-way at the location and the manner of the STATE Permit Agreement; and, NOW, THEREFORE, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, that Mayor James P. Nix is hereby authorized to sign a lease agreement between the City and Yamaha Motor Corporation to lease two (2) Utility Work Vehicles. The term of said lease shall be for 36 months. COUNCILMEMBER JONES MOVED TO APPROVE THE REQUEST FOR CHANGE ORDER #4, BY JAMES BROS. EXCAVATING, INC., AN INCREASE OF $9,043.95 FOR THE LOW PRESSURE SEWER SYSTEM ALONG SCENIC Hwy 98 AND COUNTY ROAD ONE. THIS CHANGE ORDER IS FOR OVERRUNS AND UNDER RUNS TO THE FINAL CONTRACT PRICE.
