NO ONE WAS ABSENT. THERE BEING A QUORUM PRESENT, MAYOR NIX CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER. COUNCILMEMBER QUINN MOVED TO APPROVE MINUTES OF THE 24 MAY 1 999, REGULAR MEETING. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER JONES, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. MAYOR NIX STATED IN RESPONSE TO THE SAFETY ISSUES REGARDING ACCESS INTO DOCK CREEK, DOCK CREEK PARTNERS, LLC AGREES TO CONSTRUCT THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL ACCESS STREETS AT ANYTIME WITHIN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS UPON THE CITY'S REQUEST. A 60 FOOT STREET AT THE END OF MONTROSE WOODS DRIVE TYING INTO BEAVER DAM ROAD. 2. A 50 FOOT STREET AT THE WEST END OF SOUTH DRIVE TYING INTO HIGHWAY 98. MAYOR NIX ALSO EXPRESSED THAT THE COUNTY IS CONSIDERING OPENING COUNTY ROAD 1 3. COUNCILMEMBER FORD MOVED NOT TO OPEN BEAVER DAM ROAD INTO MONTROSE WOODS DRIVE AT THIS TIME. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER QUINN, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. DUE TO THE RULES NOT BEING UNANIMOUSLY SUSPENDED AT THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING 24 MAY 1 999, THE ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE No. 1 055 IS NULL AND VOID, COUNCILMEMBER DUCK MOVED TO FINAL ADOPT ORDINANCE NO. 1055. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER JONES, MOTION FOR FINAL ADOPTION PASSED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: AYE -DUCK, QUINN, FORD, NIX, PUCKETT, AND JONES. NAY -NONE. AN ORDINANCE TO RE -ZONE GEORGE KLUMPP PROPERTY, PHASE VI OF IDLEWILD, FROM RA - RESIDENTIAL AGRICULTURE TO R2-MEDIUM DENSITY SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL. THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THIS ORDINANCE. NO ONE PRESENT WAS OPPOSED TO THE AMENDMENT. COUNCILMEMBER QUINN REQUEST THAT THE ORDINANCE BE AMENDED TO INCLUDE THE REGULATIONS FOR PLACING TOWERS NEAR HISTORICAL SITES IDENTIFIED BY THE COUNTY AND STATE. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER PUCKETT, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. 1 4 JUNE 1999 RESOLUTION NO. 639-99 2309 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE (HEREIN CALLED "THE CITY") IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA THAT THE SAID MAYOR IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE PURCHASE CONTRACTS WITH THE FRAZER LANIER COMPANY INCORPORATED, MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA, PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE FROM THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE. DAN BECKNER ADDRESSED THE COUNCIL REQUESTING PERMISSION TO INVESTIGATE THE POSSIBILITY OF INSTALLING AN ANEMOMETER (WINDTALKER) ON THE MUNICIPAL PIER IN FAIRHOPE. THIS DEVISE MEASURES WINDSPEED, AND ENABLES ACCESS TO THE WIND DATA FROM A PHONE LINE. COUNCILMEMBER DUCK MOVED TO ALLOW MR. BECKNER TO LOOK INTO THE POSSIBILITY OF INSTALLING A WINDTALKER, AND TO WORK WITH AARON NORRIS ON WHERE THE DEVISE CAN BE INSTALLED. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER PUCKETT, MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
