COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session
at 5:30 pm; Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber;
161 North Section Street; Fairhope, Alabama 36532; on
Mondav, 28 November 1994.
Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers John V. Duck,
Michael A. Ford, David E. Bishop, Jeanette Puckett, and Layton
Overstreet; City Attorney Marion E. Wynne and City Clerk Evelyn
Phillips. No one was absent.
There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting
to order. Minutes of the 14 November 1994 regular session
were duly approved.
Councilman Bishop introduced in writing an ordinance to
require all new suppliers of utilities to no longer use aerial
mains or service supply lines; or to convert existing under-
ground service mains or lines to aerial; in the public ways
of the City of Fairhope. The ordinance will be given final
consideration at the next regular meeting.
Council took the following action on bids:

A No Bid was received from McConnell Automotive, Mobile; and
No Response was received from Gulf Chrysler, Foley; Trail
Pontiac-GMC, Mobile; Southern Olds-GEO, Foley; and Chris
Myers, Daphne.
It is recommended to accept the lowest bid by Steber Chevrolet
for $17,413.50 each car. --J. Anderson, Police Chief
--W. Smith, Purch. Agt.
Councilwoman Puckett moved to accept the low bid by Steber
Chevrolet, provided all specifications are met. Seconded by
Councilman Duck, motion passed unanimously.

There was No Response from Chris Myers, Daphne; Champion Dodge,
Mobile; and Trail Pontiac, Mobile.
It is recommended to accept the low bid of Orville Beckford
at $12,800.00. --J. Gillespie, Meter Supt --W. Smith, PurchAgt
Councilman Duck moved to accept the low bid by Beckford, pro-
vided all specifications are met. Seconded by Councilman
Overstreet, motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Ford moved to update the Volunteer Firemen's
Roster for insurance purposes by ADDING: Bryan Saraceno,
Pat Peek, Jeff Jeminez, Bill Benton, Jimmy Cluster, Doug
Brown, Conrad Havranek, Ty Northrup, and Shawn Haight;
and by DELETING: Charles Blake, Mark Brown, David Ingersoll,
Sam Jackson, Pat McKee, Rusty Robinson, and Tom Shields.
Seconded by Councilman Bishop, motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Nix opened the floor for nominations for a three-
year term as an alternate on the Board of Adjustments and
Appeals. Mayor Nix nominated Charlie Senior. There being no
other nominations, Councilman Duck moved to close the nominations
and to appoint Mr. Senior by acclamation. Seconded by Council-
man Overstreet, motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Nix asked for nominations for a five-year term on
the Recreation Board. Councilman Ford nominated Patricia
McMahan. There being no other nominations, Councilman
Overstreet moved to closed the nominations and to appoint
Ms. McMahan by acclamation. Seconded by Councilwoman Puckett,
motion passed unanimously.
Meeting was duly adjourned at 5:46 pm.
