NOTICE AND CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
Notice is hereby given of a special meeting of the City
Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama, to be held at
the Fairhope Municipal Complex -Mayors Office, on Monday,
the 6th of November, 1989, at 4:45 pm, for the purpose
of accepting a bid on asphalt to resurface Fairhope
Avenue from Bancroft Street to Greeno Road and
Fairwood Boulevard,(one side), from Fairhope Avenue to
Bayou Avenue.

CONSENT TO HOLDING OF MEETING
The undersigned members of the City Council of the City
of Fairhope, Alabama, do hereby acknowledge service of
the Notice and Call of Special Meeting hereinabove set
forth and do hereby consent to the holding of such
meeting at such time and in such place and for the
"pose et forth therein.

The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session
at 4:45 pm; Fairhope Municipal Complex Mayors Office;
161 North Section Street; Fairhope, Alabama; on
Monday, 6 November 1989.
The purpose of this meeting was to accept the low bid on
resurfacing part of Fairhope Avenue (from Greeno Road to
Bancroft Street) and one side of Fairwood Boulevard (from
Fairhope Avenue to Bayou Serest).

Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers Roy C. White,
David E. Bishop, Michael A. Ford, and Barney L. Shull; City
Attorney Marion E. Wynne and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips.
Councilwoman Jeanette Puckett was out of town.
There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting
to order.
There were two bids to consider: Timco, Inc., of Bay Minette,
at $8.00 per ton; and H.O. Weaver & Son, of Mobile) at $4.40
per ton. Purchasing recommended acceptance of the low bid
from Weaver & Son. So moved by Councilman Shull. Seconded
by Councilman Bishop, motion passed unanimously.
This bid is for placing the asphalt. The material will
be purchased from the County (at approximately 7.50 per ton).
This resurfacing will be done in connection with the Water
& Sewer Extension project now in progress and the resurfacing
will replace patching provided for in the W.R. Mitchell
contract.... the cost of resurfacing will be paid for by the
reduced funds from Mitchell plus Gas Tax funds .... total costs
estimated to be $49,000.
Meeting was duly adjourned at 4:46 pm.
