STATE OF ALABAMA X COUNTY OF BALDWIN X The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at 5:30 pm; Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber; 161 North Section Street; Fairhope, Alabama 36532; on Monday, 26 September 1988. Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers Roy C. White, Jeanette Puckett, David E. Bishop, and Barney L. Shull; City Attorney James H. Reid and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips. Councilman Michael A. Ford was absent. There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting to order. Minutes of the 12 September 1988 regular session were duly approved. Councilwoman Puckett introduced, and moved for the adoption of, the following resolution. Seconded by Councilman Shull, motion passed unanimously: RESOLUTION NO. 264-88 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a Twenty -Year (20) Lease Agreement between the CITY and its AIRPORT BOARD (Lessor) AND AIR CHARTER, INC., an Alabama corporation, (Lessee); on certain premises desig- nated as Space Number 3 at the Fairhope Municipal Airport, Baldwin County, Alabama; at a rate of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per year, payable in advance annually beginning 11 August 1988, rate renegotiable every five years; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That this resolution rescinds and replaces Resolution No. 241-87, duly adopted by this body on 21 December 1987. ADOPTED THIS 26th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1988. II ty Councilman Bishop introduced, and moved for the adoption of, the following resolution. Seconded by Councilman White, motion passed unanimously: 26 September 1988 967 RESOLUTION NO. 265-88 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, That those streets located in ROLLING OAKS SUB- DIVISION are hereby accepted for maintenance by the City of Fairhope as per recommendation by Arthur E. Rigas, P.E., and as per Section 19-2 of the Fairhope Code of Ordinances. ADOPTED THIS 26th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1988. s Y. Seconded by Councilman Bishop, motion passed unanimously: RESOLUTION NO. 266-88 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, That the GOLF COURSE MANAGER shall be authorized and have the authority to set prices on merchandise for resale, green fees, golf cart rental, annual golf fees, and other fees as needed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Golf Course Manager shall be charged with the responsibility of promoting the Golf Course in a first-class manner and setting fees and prices at a level to insure that the Golf Course income is sufficient to meet its budgetary requirements and is financially self-supporting; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Mayor and Council shall continue to closely monitor the Golf Course operations to insure its financial integrity and to see that the Golf Course is operated consistently with established policies, rules and regulations. NlX, Mayor ty N Councilman White moved to deny a request by Mr. William Isherwood to keep a pony in the city limits due to previous denials of similar requests. Seconded by Councilman Bishop, motion passed unanimously. FOR 5,200 ft OF 12-INCH PVC PIPE & MATERIALS - W$S DEPT. Councilwoman Puckett moved to accept the low bid from Water Products Company, provided all specifications are met. Seconded by Councilman Bishop, motion passed unanimously. Councilman Shull moved to authorize newspaper ads soliciting any interest of property owners in a public improvements assessment project. Seconded by Councilman White, motion passed unanimously. Mayor Nix proclaimed October 9th to 15th as Public Power Week in Fairhope. Councilman White also reported on plans to promote Fire Prevention Week (Oct 3-7).
