Mayor Nix made two announcements:. Fairhope has been selected
as a site to receive a visit by the Torch Bearer as part of
the "I Believe in the USA" Olympics program, Rick Weinacker,
Chairman. The visit is scheduled for June 15th. Also, the
local chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal
Employees (NARFE) has "adopted" North Section Street, from
the "Y" on Highway 98 to downtown, as their special street
for picking up litter. Mayor Nix says this is much appreciated
and he hopes other groups will take up this clean-up idea.
