STATE OF ALABAMA
COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session
at 5:30 o'clock, PM, Fairhope Municipal Complex Council
Chamber, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532,
on Wednesday, 27 Match 1985.
This meeting was rescheduled from regular meeting day of
Monday, March 25th, due to the absence Monday of several members
attending the National League of Cities meeting in Washington, D.C.
Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers Roy C. White,
Trisha Nelson, David E. Bishop, and Barney L. Shull; City
Attorney James Reid and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips. Councilman
Michael A. Ford was absent.
There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting
to order. Minutes of the 11 March 1985 regular session were
duly approved.
Councilman Bishop moved for final adoption of Ordinance
No. 752, an ordinance to amend the Zoning Ordinance by rezoning
FSTC property leased to Keith Gates, namely 8 North School Street,
from R2 medium density single family residential to B4 business
and professional offices. Seconded by Councilman Shull, motion
passed unanimously.
Councilman Shull moved for final adoption of Ordinance
No. 753, an ordinance to establish a City Class II Package Store
License and to set an annual $500.00 fee for same. Seconded by
Councilman White, motion passed unanimously.
Councilwoman Nelson moved to authorize an auction of obsolete
vehicles on a date in the near future; Council will reserve the
right to refuse any and all bids. Seconded by Councilman Shull,
motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Nix announced an Open House will be held at City Hall
on Sunday, April 14th, from 2:00-5:00 pm. The entire Complex
will be open for visitors. A mural of a Fairhope scene has been
donated by members of the Art Center and is now in the auditorium
foyer just off the main lobby.
Councilwoman Nelson moved to hear the following business not
on the Agenda. Seconded by Councilman Bishop, motion passed.

Councilman Shull, as chairman of the Fairhope Education
Support Advisory Committee, made a brief report on the Committee's
activities. Councilman White moved to commend the Committee and

to ask them to continue their efforts with the Council's full support.
Seconded by Councilwoman Nelson, motion passed unanimously
