We, the undersigned members of the Fairhope City Council,
do hereby waive notice of a special -called meeting to be held
3 November 1982 at 5:15 o'clock, P.M., Fairhope Municipal
Complex, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama, for the
purpose of hearing a request from the Airport Board and a
request from the Fairhope Student Government Association.

The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session
at 5:15 o'clock, P.M., Fairhope Municipal Complex, 161 North
Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on Wednesday,
3 November 1982.
Present were Mayor James P. Nix-; Councilmembers Sam E. Box,
Roy C. White, David E. Bishop, and C. 0. McCawley; City Attorney
Jim Reid and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips. Councilmember Trisha
Nelson was out-of-town.
The purpose of this meeting was to hear a request from the
Airport Board and a request from the FHS Student Government
Association.
Airport Board Chairman Don Coogan introduced Mr. Daniel
Bravenec of The Golden West Air Shows. Mr. Bray.enec's group
wants to stage an Air Show at the Municipal Airport on December
4th and 5th and, Mr. Coogan reported, has won the approval of
the Airport Board and the airport leasee, Mr. Phil Bass.
Mr. Bravenec explained the Golden West Air Show will stage
a complete show --charge admission ($4.50 & $7.50) and set up
concessions (beer on Saturday only). They will provide police,
a Doctor, ambulance and crash trucks; also $1,000,000 liability
insurance to the City's satisfaction, all at their expense.
The City is to receive $.50 per each average ticket charge of
$6.00 of the gross gate receipts. A donation is also to go
to Boys and Girls Ranch. They expect a crowd of some 20,000.
Councilman White moved for approval of the request, pro-
vided insurance and liability requirements are met. Seconded
by Councilman McCawley, motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Nix reported that the Fairhope High School Student
Govenment Association was working on a paving project at the
High School (parking lot) and requested help from the City on
the base work. The County is to do the engineering and the
work on the 200' x 260' area. Councilman White asked that
drainage be a prime consideration before any work is done.
Councilman Bishop moved to help on a time available basis.
Seconded by Councilman White, motion passed unanimously.
